Description

The CamelBak Arête 18 is one of our most versatile backpacks. It’s a double- duty backpack that quickly reverses into an insulated reservoir sleeve that fits inside larger hiking backpacks. When you flip it right side out, you’ll have plenty of room for layers, snacks, essentials, and 1.5-liters of fresh water. Water is supplied by a durable Crux reservoir that is simple to load and easy to refill. The Crux design produces 20% more water per sip. It also includes an ergonomic handle and an easy to use on/off switch. We designed the CamelBak Arête 18 to be both sturdy and lightweight. This hiking backpack is made from ultralight and compressible materials. It is also equipped with user-friendly features including an adjustable sternum strap for a comfortable fit. Our Got Your Bak Lifetime Guarantee covers all reservoirs, backpacks, bottles and accessories from manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship for the lifetime of the product.

  • Great for day trips
I purchased this before a 10 day trip to some national parks. I used this on short 3-4 hour hikes and it is the perfect size. The 2L bladder was easy to use/refill. The bag is incredibly light weight and comfortable. You can easily fit a first aid kit, a light jacket, some snacks, and another water bottle in the bag. The material is easy to clean and didn't tear. The price tag was a little higher than I wanted but it suits my needs perfectly! ... show more

  • Amazing backpack
Love this backpack. I'm 4'11" so finding a backpack that fits me well was hard- until now. Literally spent hours at REI trying on different backpacks until I found this one. It is perfect as a light daypack and can fit a surprising amount of stuff inside. For my trip to Hawaii I was able to fit a change of clothes, rain jacket, snacks, lunch, two water bottles, and still had plenty of room to spare. It's very comfortable even when filled. It seems durable, withstood a lot of abuse on my trip. ... show more

  • Lightweight comfortable backpack. I was looking for a small bag ...
I can't believe I spent $70 dollars on this, but it was exactly what I wanted. Lightweight comfortable backpack. I was looking for a small bag for a small person (5'1'') with a mesh pocket and a zipper pocket. I usually use one of the string backpacks, but had an unfortunate incident where my water bottle leaked on my phone (whoops). This bag as the added bonus of the hydration bladder that I can put into another bag when I (hopefully) become a more advanced hiker. The hydration bladder also means I could put my sunblock in the mesh pocket instead of a water bottle so that my sunblock is away from my lunch. All the options. Fits a jacket, lunch, keys, wallet, phone, 32oz water bottle, sunblock and more! 4 stars instead of 5 for the ridiculous price. 5 stars if you're lucky enough to find a sale. ... show more

  • Light weight, perfect for small day hikes and trips
I bought this for light day hikes in the Adirondacks. The water reservoir was perfect for an easy 6 mile trek. The pack itself is very light and was comfortable to wear when packed with snacks, extra layers and day hike necessities. I did one longer hike and packed an extra 1.5L Nalgene in it. Because there are no internal pockets or dividers, my extra water weighed the pack down and made it uncomfortable. The side zipper fits an inhaler, chapstick, iPhone X and headphones. Very handy! ... show more

  • Love it!
I love this bag! I've taken it hiking numerous times now, and have loved it each time. It's roomy enough to fit all of my hiking necessities, a FULL water bladder, and my XLR camera. I also got caught in a rain storm coming back from a high elevation hike (AKA we trekked in the rain for quite some time before reaching the car)- surprisingly, everything in my pack was dry! It says water resistant, but the downpour had me worried. ... show more

  • Camelback? More like Camel LEAK
I am SO bummed with the bladder in this pack. I am using the pack for a long hiking trip. The bag itself is good and has a large capacity, but I could not use the bladder at all because it didn't just leak, it poured out of the seal, which made it utterly useless and so I had to carry a water bottle. NOT the point of a Camelback. I've already used the bag because I didn't have a back up, but as soon as I'm back from my trip, it's all going back. I've used Camelback products for YEARS! I'm very disappointed by the lack of quality here. ... show more

  • Good but Should Have Bought Meshed-back
Pros: right-sized for day hike. Storage options for extra clothing, food, gear. Con: no mesh back, like +$20 CloudWalker's.

  • The perfect day pack for hiking!
I got this pack for a couple day hikes I was planning over the summer. It worked out perfectly. Even filled the bag was super light, and had a ton of room for snacks, or maybe a light jacket. The straps are so light weight and comfortable it's easy to forget you're wearing it!
