Purchased this jacket for a recent trip to Alaska. It performed wonderfully and was really nice to be able to remove the inside liner and Ware that all by itself when the Full use of the jacket was not needed, I purchased two jackets one for myself and one for my wife and she really enjoyed the comfort and usability of this jacket. Love the jacket. Unfortunatly, the one I received had a missing snap below the zipper. By the way it was bagged up, it looks like I got someone else's return. Sent it back and got a second one. That one is fine and looks great. Took one star away because of the return and that I'm pretty sure I got someone else's return .

I've been burned a few times with attempts at ordering coats on Amazon before. It's basically taught me to stay away from Chinese brands because a lot of them are basically bait and switch. Their photos look great... Neat tailoring, sharp angles, etc. then you get the coat and it's just a big shapeless mess with odd proportions. This one pleasantly surprised me, though. It's made a bit wide around the torso and lower abdomen (I already have the smallest size, and I'm a pretty average 5'9 guy with a BMI of 21, so not really skinny or fat) but overall the fit is good and the quality is there. I purchased for $55 on sale and I'm very satisfied with the quality, but not sure I'd buy it for the regular price close to $100. The one thing I'm not a huge fan of is that the wrist of the inner fleece is only tied to the outer coat with a single strap. The bottom of the coat has the two layers zipped together, but at the wrist it's a single rather loose strap, which means you have to re-adjust the sleeves around your wrist every time you put the coat on because the fleece just gets pulled way out.

For context, I work for Amazon as a delivery driver and our Delivery Service Partner hasn't given us the branded coats yet. But that means that I'm out in rain, snow and everything else. The coat is a two piece, as it is described. The inner layer being an exceptionally warm fleece, unhooded fleece zip up. The outer layer is a softshell, hooded windbreaker like coat. So far, nothing out of place from description to item bought. When I came across this coat, I was actually looking for something like a snowboarding coat, as they tend to be lightweight, flexible and most importantly WARM (provided you're moving about). This coat nailed all those aspects. The coat is insanely warm, blocks all the wind when using both layers. The size is mostly true to standard sizing charts, making 2XL and up perfect for us big and tall buyers, and what problems I have with it are mostly nit-picky, personal issues, and even then it only cost a single star. So well get the cons out of the way here, broken into two parts, as the coat comes in two layers: Fleece Layer: -Elastic at wrists tend to pull back on my long sleeve thermals and push my gloves forward, and there's no way to adjust them personally. -The "hooks" for the fleece to attach it to the softshell are really weak and constantly pull the sleeves inside out, and trying to get both layers back through is like fighting a drunk toddler. Softshell Layer: (Context; I'm a LARGE man, needing a 3XL in most jackets/coats) -Almost too big.. the hood goes over my face whenever I put it on and I swim in this thing.. And that's it, other than those cons, this 2 layer combo works even for us Delivery Drivers out there in the freezing cold, so far it's gotten to -25 with windchill since I've purchased and my hands, legs and face might be frozen, but the rest of me sure isn't! I'd recommend purchasing a separate, better fitting fleece layer if you run into the same troubles as I did with the fleece layer, and I literally put a 3M velcro bit on the hood so it'd stick to my beanies and not flop over my face. As for knowing the size, I'd almost say buy one size smaller than you normally would for optimal fit, otherwise it's pretty good for being oversized on me.

For a sub-$100 winter coat, this jacket is awesome. A fleece-lined shell with a detachable hood, it is super warm and functional. The best part, the price tag means you don't have to sweat something happening to it. Still, there are a couple minor niggles. The flap that covers the zipper is too short and doesn't have a velcro seal. The wind cuts right through the zipper and blows cold air onto places you need it the least. The hood isn't lined. That's not a problem in a shell you wear over a sweatshirt, but it's a bigger problem on a lined shell. You can't just use the hood, you'll freeze. So you have to carry or wear a separate hat. Pockets are too small. The one thing I like about my old North Face jacket were the big, fat, deep pockets. Big enough for mittens, pocket warmers, or a small puppy. The liner pockets are wide but not deep and the shell pockets on this jacket are ridiculously small. Some improvements needed but, overall, not a bad jacket for under $100. It looks much more expensive than it is if you can live with the minor improvements it needs.

I chose this coat after a lot of research and based on features and price this is a perfect match. For me, the XL is perfect because it will allow me to add layers under the coat. Overall i love the pockets and onboard storage. The main zipper is a little lite for the work it will have to do but I like the fact it zips down from the top or up from the bottom. I find this last part is perfect for climbing into my truck and still keeping it zipped up until my truck warms up. I really like how the collar snuggles up around my neck to keep in the warmth and keep out the wind. The only drawback is the hood. Because the collar is so full, the hood velcro at the bottom, which is meant to secure the hood under your chin will not reach. Every coat has at least one drawback and if this is all I find over the coming winter of use then I'll rate this a BUY. For the money, you can't beat the features. As someone said...there is never bad weather, just bad clothes....this is a good one. Stay warm out there my friends :)
