How should I choose between this 2.7K camcorder and a cheaper 1080P model? For a few dollars more, 2.7K packs about 1.8x the pixels of 1080P and records at 30fps instead of the 15fps common on budget 1080P models - footage is visibly sharper and smoother. Does it have autofocus or do I have to focus manually? I'm buying it for my kid and worry it'll be blurry. It has a fixed-focus lens with no autofocus or manual focus — just point and shoot like a phone. Keep your subject about 0.6m (2ft) or farther away and subjects stay reasonably sharp. How long does the battery last and can I film while it's plugged in? It comes with one 1000mAh rechargeable battery. It supports recording while charging, so for long shoots just plug into a power bank and it won't shut off mid-video. A compatible spare NP-40-type battery is also easy to find if you want a backup. How much recording time does the included 32GB card? It records 2.7K AVI video to the included 32GB SD card. Expect roughly 2.5–4 hours of recording depending on resolution and what's happening in the scene. You can swap in a larger microSD card if you need more space. Does this plug into my TV with HDMI to watch videos big? It does not have an HDMI output port, so you can't connect it directly to a TV.
