Description

Camco's Taste PURE XL RV/Marine Water Filter provides two times the filtration and capacity as compared to our standard water filters. It reduces bad taste, odor, chlorine and sediment in drinking water with a 20-micron sediment filter. Also features GAC (Granular Activated Carbon) filtration in combination with KDF to prevent undesirable bacteria growth when the filter is not is use. Durable in-line, exterior mount filter has a wider body for increased flow. Includes a heavy-duty flexible hose protector to reduce strain on connections while minimizing kinking that could impede water flow. Not designed or tested with fish tanks or ponds. NSF 42/53 listed. CSA LLC (Low Lead Content) certified. Made in the USA.

Easy on & off. Certainly improves taste of water off the tap. Will likely buy again, but going forward will likely use as an initial filter and add-on another filter that will do better than 20 microns.

I can't really tell a difference which I guess is good??? We are on a well system where we park our camper so I purchased this to filter out calcium since our hot water heater has had to be flushed out twice. Still getting some calcium in so going to replace the filter (it's time anyway) and pay closer attention. I think I'd definitely rather have it than not. ... show more

I'm not sure how effective these should be, but they aren't too effective at blocking the hose water flavor. Which is unfortunate when you load your tank up, and all you taste is hose water. I'd reccomened looking into an alternative filter specifically to filter the hose itself.

    • Great tasting water and higher flow rate with the XL. ALWAYS flush the new filter first!
I change out the water filter for my 5th wheel RV every season. Typically I buy the standard size Camco filter. I bought the larger XL size one this year for the first time, since it supposedly allows more volume flow through. In many campgrounds, low water pressure can be an issue, so less water flow restriction can be a plus. The price for the bigger filter seems a bit high compared to the standard size, but if it works better, it is not out of line. I have always had very good results using these Camco filters for years. Excellent filtering and great tasting water wherever we camp. One thing to note... do NOT hook this filter up to your water system straight out of the box unless you want black water coming out of your faucets. I had to run several gallons through it initially to rinse out the loose carbon from the manufacturing process. After about 5 to 6 gallons, it ran nice and clear. This is not unusual for carbon filters including the ones on standard refrigerators. Always flush first...then it will be good for the life of the filter. ... show more
