The durable exterior jacket protects the water hose and electrical components from damage or exposure. Operates on 120VAC and uses an 18AWG 6-foot power cord with LED indicator plug. • Keeps the hose from freezing, but the connections leak if they aren't kept straight
We live in our RV full-time and experience long periods of freezing weather, so we definitely needed a heated water hose. I use two 50' lengths of this to reach the nearest hose bib. They definitely keep the hose from freezing, but if the hose leading up to the connections isn't kept straight, the connections leak. Also, they draw significant power, 364 watts per 50' section, and they continue to heat well above freezing (i.e., in temps around 40 F), so I unplug them when I know the temp will stay well above freezing for long. ... show more

  • Good hose
The media could not be loaded. This was my second purchase of a Camco heated water hose. Original purchase was for a 25 ft, this time I’d moved to a new spot that required more length. The hose I ordered appeared to have an issue as it was leaking water from inside the sleeve that houses the ‘heat’ portion of the hose. Amazon-linked ‘customer service’ for this issue took me to Camco’s website - which offered no direct way for immediate contact - just an email. As the forecast was looking to be pretty cold within the next few days - I opted for a replacement rather than to trouble-shoot. Would have liked to have shared video and gotten LIVE support. Would still recommend. The 25 ft hose did well last year for several days in a row of negative temps in middle TN, USA. ... show more

  • What a drip
The media could not be loaded. 3 out of 6 I have bought so far has leaked. Either right at the fitting where it's crimped or has a pin hole leak in the hose. We’ve tightened and tightened, still drips. The holes can't be repaired. Return was still available so just reordered again. Luckily I also bought the insurance. But having to re-order the price is different. The prices change so often I bought them at $139 to $179. Not happy about that. Easy return with Amazon but a hassle and a pain to get all water out and put back into the box again. We have 3 trailers on our property that's why we have to buy so many. Latest one was bought March 30 and today is April 14 and noticed it was leaking in this last video. ... show more

  • works great but has a lingering smell/taste
works great keeping it from freezing, but has a very strong plastic smell and has a bitter taste. I've had this hooked up for a month now but the smell and taste is still present everyday. The hose does what its intended to but I wish the smell and taste wasn't so bad, this is the reason why I can't give it better than a 3 star rating. ... show more

  • It works but water tastes very strongly like plastic
Well, it kept the water from freezing, but it's been weeks and our water still tastes and smells VERY strongly like plastic. We're full time RVrs so we've ran tons of water through and it still tastes and smells terrible. Says it's for potable water, but I highly suggest NOT drinking this water. Not happy, for this price it should not be like this. Disappointed. ... show more

  • Worth Every Penny
Bought this to supply water to our 5th wheel while our house was being renovated. Hooked it up and turned it on approx November 10 and now the end of March without any issues or frozen water. We've had temps down to -6F with wind chills -30 and this thing didn't miss a beat. We did buy insulated faucet bibs for both ends to protect the inlet and outlets further but otherwise just hooked it up and let it do its thing. The hose is really well made and we found the ends to be heavy, well threaded and easy to hook up. It will actually warm the water to the touch when water has been sitting in the hose all night. I grew up in a cold weather climate on a farm and I was skeptical as to how this could not freese, but it didn't. Again, the ends of the house are metal and in weather below say 20F I am certain that like us you'll need a bit of added protection to insure they don't freeze. The kit comes with a foam sleeve for the ends but we opted for a bit more protection and just got some insulated faucet socks with velcro straps. Bottom line, I'm sold on this. We've sold our RV but I'm keeping this hose. Does what it says. ... show more
