This is one of the best constructed products I have used in quite a while. Rigid stainless tank and quality stainless steel quick connect fittings. VERY easy to install, back flush and regenerate. Even though it is a portable unit I have hard plumbed it in. No intention to take it out because we love the quality water it provides. We travel in our 44' RV from Alaska to Texas and back every year. We also travel all around the Southwest in the winter. On our journeys we have struggled with quality water. We do not like staying in RV parks and usually find ourselves out in the wild somewhere boon docking. We run a 3 filter bank and this softener on our water system and it makes a huge difference! Even when we fill our tank and use the water you can smell and taste that it is pure. One of the major benefits we have found is that this softener removes the rust flavor and smell that filters sometimes miss. Not to mention the appliances that it keeps from mineralization. This company has a filter system that I would like to try as mine, being homemade, is rather bulky. If it works as well as the softener it would be a great addition.

I have had a RV water softener before but this one rates a 5+. The stainless steel tank and fittings are superb. I love the stainless steel quick connect fittings. Not only is that convenient, but the chance of leaks is greatly lessened because the hose side of the connection will be made only once and you can get it good and tight. I may add teflon tape just to make certain. It even has a carry handle so that moving it is easy. I have it installed alongside the BluTech R2 filter system. I have not yet run a water test but I know it is going to be great.

I had already purchased a water softener to go with my R3, I purchased from Blu Technology. But when I saw that Blu Technology released a full stainless steel softner with compatible quick connects, I had to try it out. I am glad that I did. This unit is the of the same high quality as their other products...all stainless and a cool industrial gorilla handle. These guys take no short cuts. I absolutely love that this quick connects directly to my R3 and RV. Easy take down and set up. These Blu Technology products make me the envy of every camp ground I visit.

UPDATE: After having the system installed for just 2 months, we have noticed that the taste and smell has turned. We are currently working with Blu Tech to correct the issues that we are seeing and the company has been proactive in making sure that we are getting the best out of their product. This review will be updated as we progress, but I will say that they appear to be willing to work through the challenges we have experienced. Aside from certain issues, the products are well made and the company is absolutely interested in making things right. ORIGINAL: We RV full time and come across some pretty hard water in RV parks. We bought the whole filtration/water softener system. It barely helps. We recharged it the other day after using for a month in hopes it would help. We still have water spots. It's a little bit better but not much!

So, I bought this back in May, along with their 3 stage filtration system. I finally needed to use it and Both are leaking from broken plastic parts. All my BT products look perfect, no scratches, dings. I didn't drop it and the packaging was incredible, big pieces of foam protecting it. The plastic top cover is thick and it is leaking deep in the groove (bottom left in picture). I called Blu Tech and they said out of warranty, "damage caused by use or shipping". WTF, this piece of plastic is thick. The other piece is broken at the mount of 8 screws holding it to the frame. Going with someone else. I bought everything for my RV trip but got delayed for many reasons. So, couldn't test it right away but being brand new...

I had my concerns that we would lose water pressure, but we cannot tell the different in pressures. Plenty of pressure and water flow. I tested the water with test strips before and after. Yep, the water tested hard, and after connecting the softener tank, our water was soft and the soap loved it due to all the suds it created. We have to two Florida campgrounds, and both worked great. I like the lite weight of the tank. I have used the heavier softeners and the light weight and quick disconnects make it a dream come true. As you can see in the pictures, I also purchased the Blu three stage filter, and placed it in a cooler since it will be set up outdoors. I highly recommend this softener if you are wanting to protect your RV investment. When I purchased this Rv water softener, it was identified as a 16,000 grain on Amazon. It still has the label on it as a 16,000 grain. It does not soften Arizona hard water. Whenever I contacted Blu, they said sorry, how about we send you a box of resin. I needed a 16,000 grain, and paid for a 16,000 grain.

This is the perfect size stainless steel water softener!! I am using it prior to a distillation system that requires softened water for ease of cleaning. I estimate that I will be able to produce about 1,000 gallons of distilled water before the softener media needs to be regenerated. It is very easy to regenerate with a box of salt then backwash the softener by backwashing the media in the softener with the quick release couplings and I especially like the fact that the tank is made of stainless steel for durability!!
