This will be perfect for my needs. However the shipping box did not hold up so well. But I had no dents to fix and it appears very well made. To make it even better I think I shall get some spray or paint on rubber for the exterior and edges.

    • Wish this came standard on homes.
After drywall and garage cabinet damage that was quite a hassle, we decided to purchase this product before installing the replacement water heater. Oh, how I wish we had had this from the beginning! This would have saved us so much heartache and damage. We lost a night's sleep mopping up our old water heater as it continued to leak for 12 hours. If we had had this product we could have hooked up a hose and gone to bed! This gives our water heater cut out a much cleaner appearance and makes dust and dirt easy to keep at bay! Definitely much sturdier than what you find at Home Depot or Lowes (much thicker metal)... but unfortunately the packaging was poor (just a few pieces of paper) and the pan arrived majorly dented. Not enough to affect functionality, so I guess I'll live with it.

    • If you've ever endured a flooded basement - you want this.
I've had to endure far tooooooo many water issues this past year. And, when I replaced the HW heater (I did it, not a plumber), I installed this pan under it. I saw one in a MODEL HOME a few years ago, and promised myself, if I ever had to replace another HW heater, that I would use one! I am glad I did. You put a rubber hose on the outlet, and run it directly down the sump pump. Now, if the new hot water heater EVER leaks, or BREAKS, the FLOODED basement I just endured, will NOT happen.
