For my birthday, decided to upgrade my old irons. After some research I decided on these CW Mavriks. Was not really keen on spending north of 1K on irons (I'm not that good) so I pulled the trigger. Two things I should mention, one is that they are light and the lofts are slightly lower than standard so that takes some getting use to. However, they are so far anyway a nice upgrade, forgiving and pretty long hitting. Great value for a premium brand. ... show more

I was worried I wasn't going to like my clubs, but was gladly impressed. These are similar to my old clubs just a little chunkier. I went with the steel shafts cause I have a fast swing and feels balanced. I haven't hit with them yet but feel great. The big issue I heard was getting the ball to stick on green with low spins but I don't have a problem getting ball up so hopefully that's not a problem. Frustration! A lot of $ to pay for a set to have one club right-handed. Absolutely would have returned it but it was for my son on his 18th birthday and he opened it on a trip to golf for the weekend . So, now his set is short an 8 iron!
