  • Great Practice Mat for Chipping
Size: 8" x 1'4" (L x W)
I bought this golf hitting pad to use for chipping in my backyard, and it's been fantastic! It's perfect for saving my lawn from divots while still getting in some good practice. The pad provides a nice, thick, consistent surface for chipping, and I’ve had no issues with it so far. I don’t really take full swings with my irons on the mat, so I can't speak to its durability under heavy use, but for chipping, it’s been holding up great. It’s easy to set up and really helps me focus on my short game without worrying about wrecking my yard. If you're looking to practice your chipping at home, have some fun, and keep your lawn intact, I’d 100% recommend this mat. It’s a solid option for any golfer looking to improve their short game! ... show more

  • Excellent Build and Durability!
Size: 1 Ft x 2 Ft
I use this mat A LOT! I use it all the time when I go out to the driving range which is several times a week, and when I go, I'm hitting balls for over 2 hours each time. After 2 years of use, it's still going strong. Pro tip- when using it, don't place your ball any further back than mid-way. This will prolong the life of your mat. I learned this the hard way with my first one. I had "chunked" my iron shots with the first one, and it caused a separation of the turf from the underlying rubber bottom. Purely my fault; not a lack of quality with the mat. Having learned my lesson, I now place my ball in the center, or more towards the front. Now that I made that change in ball position, this mat can take a serious beating of thousands of balls without failing. It has a convenient eye-hole at the front end, so I hang it up in my shed when not in use. If there comes a day when I've finally worn this mat out, I won't hesitate to buy another one of these. I tried a Maxfli mat from Dick's Sporting Goods (cheaper than the Callaway), but the build quality was HORRIBLE. It started falling apart after 1-2 uses. But I can't say enough about how well built this Callaway mat is. Still going strong after 2 years! ... show more

  • Quality Golf Mat
Size: 8" x 1'4" (L x W)
I've had this hitting mat for over a month now. It was purchased at the urging of my wife so that I would not wear a hole in the rug taking practice swings in doors. It is heavy duty and very solid feeling. It's the perfect size, especially for my indoor needs. I try to get in 20-50 practice swings with a 7 iron every day along with some random wedge and chipping swing practice. This thing shows zero signs of wear after a month of this use, and I am now expecting it to last for years. The rug I hit it on is thin and on a hard surface, so this mat does slide around a bit on full swings that would be taking a divot on normal turf. I don't have to readjust it on every swing and it doesn't bother me when I do have to, but it's worth mentioning. My only other issue is the smell. It smells like a tire factory; doesn't stink up the room or anything, but if you toss it onto a blanket or something like that to store it then you will have a rubber smelling blanket. Excellent quality product and I'm very pleased that I bought it. ... show more

  • Good value for the money
Size: 8" x 1'4" (L x W)
I've had this mat about a week, and I find I can get a dozen foam balls and set up in the backyard and hit them into the side of my house with all my clubs with no damage. A very cheap alternative to a full sized mat which can cost $400. It isn't huge, but big enough to hit off of effectively. Heavy enough to stay put unless you hit a really (REALLY) fat shot. I like the feel and it doesn't mark my clubs. I can't speak for the durability in a week, but it seems well made. Nothing coming off or out of it so far, and I've hit several hundred shots. If you want to take some swings in your back yard without messing up your lawn or your clubs, this is a great choice. ... show more

  • Good quality mat, works for indoor use Good quality mat, works for indoor use
Size: 8" x 1'4" (L x W)
This compact hitting mat is exactly what I wanted to be able to take a few swings in my apartment without needing to head to the driving range. The turf is durable and doesn't color my club green. The rubber is thick enough to protect the floor underneath and heavy enough to keep the mat from moving significantly. I use it on a pretty short carpet to hit foam balls into my curtains. I'm a fairly experienced golfer and have been hitting a 54 degree wedge off of it, which I typically take a small divot on. When I hit it cleanly as I would want to on the course, the mat barely moves at all. If I hit it a little bit heavy it will slide an inch or two. Of course if you chunk it it will move quite a bit. I've found that it stays put well enough for me to enjoy hitting off of it. I would recommend this product for anyone considering one of these small mats for indoor use. ... show more

  • Better than a plastic door mat that I used for tent camping
Size: 8" x 1'4" (L x W)
Better than expected. At first. The green hitting surface has stood up well. I only have 55 yards of space so medium 60 degree wedge is all I can use. Fine for chips also. The mat is of good weight but still moves around. The slot in the back kept it from moving towards my target, but not from any sideways movement. I bent 2 metal rods I cut to 5 inches into an L and paced them on either side at the front of the green mat. Eventually the thick black rubber cracked where it has the Callaway logo.Still useable. Didn't use it for anything with a tee. ... show more

  • Saves my lawn!
Size: 8" x 1'4" (L x W)
The Callaway FT Launch Zone hitting mat has saved my lawn from the ravages of my golf clubs. It's small, but anyone who can't hit a ball from this size mat needs to be working on other areas of their game, in my very humble opinion. This mat is sturdy -- a friend smashed the back of it with a one-iron and barely scuffed it. It's heavy enough that it stays down when you hit from it and the tee holder works well for practicing drives. One drawback is that this must be placed on a completely flat surface. If your surface is sloped more than a few degrees, balls will try to roll off of this. If you're looking to practice hitting off of hillsides and from different scenarios, you're out of luck. I'd recommend this for someone who doesn't want to pay to hit the range day in and day out, but still wants to drop their handicap. Overall a great product that I'd buy again, and have told my friends about. ... show more

  • A compact and heavy mat for outdoor use. Not as great for indoor.
Size: 8" x 1'4" (L x W)
Its a really nice heavy mat for it's compact size. I use it in my backyard to practice swing so I don't destroy my yard. It's fairly heavy and stays in place as long as I don't strike it fat. I swing with the mat long ways where the tee holder is up front and the angled "callaway" part is in the back. This helps the mat stay in place when I hit it fat. I have tried it the other way and hit the thing fat so hard to where it flew upside down 3 yards and knocked the tee holder out. That didn't phase it and I have concluded this thing is indestructible. The tee holder is a nice feature over the rubber kind that usually comes with these. I purchased brushed tees that pair well with this. It is great for outdoor use, but not as good for indoor. It does have a very strong chemical odor out of the box which pissed off my wife (ewww what's that smell). Also, it does not stay put on laminate floors very well (which is to be expected). Due to it's small size, I don't feel as confident swinging indoors because I'm afraid I will miss and hit my club head on the floor (again, I'm not the best golfer so this might not affect you). I would definitely recommend this for outdoor use, but would suggest a bigger mat for indoor. ... show more
