  • Way better than expected
Platform For Display: Xbox One Edition: Standard
This game blew me away. I went in expecting a mediocre campaign, and decent Multiplayer. My assumptions were incorrect. This game offeres gameplay similar to black ops 3, with the whole futuristic vibe, and turns it up to 11. I honestly cannot believe how much fun I’ve had with this game so far. The campaign was leagues better than what I originally thought. The game doesn’t develop the villain enough for me to hate him, but instead developed the players character, which I can appreciate. The players character is constantly pressured during this war, and pushes himself too far. And sacrifices what is needed to save earth. Some of my favorite characters met there ends. I haven’t touched zombies, mostly because of my experience with BO3 zombies, and how you basically need multiple people to go far. The multiplayer is great. It doesn’t have the best map selection, but I can’t really say that seeing how I’ve only played 5 maps. I don’t even know the names. The modes it offers are fun. Team death match is as fun as always. Gun game is a nice way to test your skill with multiple weapons. And infection is a nice way to keep a constant thrill during battle. I can appreciate so much of this game. It isn’t my favorite call of duty, but it’s one of my favorite modern call of duty’s. Now about the shipment. The package came in perfect condition. The case and version was different than what was shown on the picture for the page. I was received the PAL version of the game, when the what was shown was the North American version. That doesn’t change the review, seeing as it’s a review of the product, not the condition. ... show more

Good action, though all pre-set like in a movie script. The story is one of these bummer types. Typically I play games to have fun not get depressed. Also, the zombie feature is something you have to pay extra for and go online.

Game was not acceptable. Wasn’t a real video game. Should have returned it. My son just told me how bad it was. Too late to return.

  • Run off walls shooting and quick reload times
Platform For Display: Xbox One Edition: Standard
I did not know what to expect with this game but I decided to buy two copies for my wife and me. The gameplay for online was pretty thrilling, and some of those places you go in multiplayer was familiar from the modern warfare 3 days. Then something else made it interesting. You can jump and hold and you can make difficult jumps or run across walls for around 5 seconds. So you can run along the wall jump off shoot and land. About 3 seconds later you are filled to do again. The kills are more satisfying and it makes you have to rely on your aiming. I am definitely not that good so far but the biggest sell point is the fun I have playing it. Great game! ... show more

  • Mediocre Game afraid of taking risks
Platform For Display: Xbox One Edition: Standard
Let me preface this by saying that I differ from most CoD players in that I thought Advanced Warfare was one of the highlights of the series. Seriously, I loved the mobility that the double jump boost mechanics added, highly enjoyed the zombies mode, and thought the maps and guns were varied and interesting. I also didn't take issue with the futuristic setting and honestly thought the single player story was really good. So Infinite should have been a sure hit for me, right? Not so fast. First off the jump mechanics are really sluggish and somewhat awkward compared to AW. In a game like CoD the quick double jump in AW only heightened the speed and intensity of firefights whereas the slow plodding floating of Infinite feels... well... stagnant. That's actually a good way to describe Infinite in general, stagnant. From the slow floating jump boosters to the extremely lackluster weapons this game is just meh. The graphics are solid and the sound is decent enough, but those were things that Advanced nailed as well. The single player campaign tried some new ideas that I liked and there was a fair amount of content, but I didn't feel as attached to the world that they built as I did with AW. Then there's the maps. Now I'm going to digress a little here to reach a larger point so bear with me. In the earlier days of CoD games maps had a high level of diversity. When you look at maps like Dome from MW 3 or even a lot of the maps from Ghosts and AW you see a standard of diverse level design. Different maps had different personalities and it made for a fun experience with lots of stand out moments. Beginning with the last few games, however, I have noticed that the maps are becoming more and more bland. The standard three lane map is becoming commonplace. Look at CoD WWII which, as of writing this, has been out for a few months. Most of the maps revolve around the three lane principle and in my opinion are less memorable than ever for it. Not saying a three lane map is necessarily bad or a new idea. Many of the early maps on MW 1 were of this variety like Ambush. The key though, is having a diverse set of maps so that they stand out. In IW this trend is evident. On top of that, the color palettes and backgrounds are all pretty snooze worthy and kind of blend together. This makes for a relatively underwhelming experience. Especially when the possibilities of zero G combat are hinted at, but never fully explored. You'll be running around full speed like you're on earth then shoot somebody, watch gravity magically turn off, and their body will go floating away. It just seems kind of off. I get that they were afraid to take risks, especially with the trailer for the game going down as one of the most disliked videos on Youtube at the time, but it was those exact risks that made AW so good in my opinion. The only real standout thing about this games is the zombies mode, which has four distinct maps with different period flairs comically appropriate to the era. There is a lot of customization here and you can spend a good hour setting up your load outs to account for every situation. The fate and fortune cards add some fun variety as well, but this leads to one of the larger complaints against CoD in general and that is the micro transactions. So much has been said about the topic and I'm not really going to address it here except to say that they are everywhere in this game. It's not really pay to win and in my 50+ hours with the game I never felt overly compelled to buy a loot box, but whole mechanic kind of stinks in my opinion. You used to have to work hard and grind out unique skins and calling cards and I kind of miss that. That being said, this game is pretty mediocre. Sure its a solid shooter but Black Ops 3 is as well so why not get that? Sure it has intense three lane combat, but so does Overwatch so why not get that? I'd say pick it up for zombies, but honestly why not just get WWII or Black Ops 3 Zombie Chronicles at this point? Actually, why not just get Battlefield 1 or 4 and see why CoD in general is growing stale? ... show more

  • Cool game, great price!
Platform For Display: Xbox One Edition: Standard
What a great value! Normally these games cost 5 to 7 times what this one does. Great graphics, good story and not to difficult to work your way through. Although, there was a time or 2 where I moved around for 20 minutes trying to figure where to go it is better than many Xbox One games I own and have quit because they are almost impossible to figure out what to do and where to go. ... show more
