  • No campaign, no problem
Multiplayer feels great now with boots-on-the-ground gameplay. The powers for each class are well managed with each class having two powers on cooldown that feel fun, but don't dominate the gameplay enough to be more important than good gunplay. 8/10 Zombies is incredibly well done. Better than ever before with three starting maps even on the basic edition of the game. Story and RPG elements are strong, and the RUSH mode was a much needed addition. Zombies could be sold as a stand-alone game for $25 and would be a fantastic value. 10/10 Lastly, Blackout blows my mind. I haven't played more than an hour or two so far, but whoever optimized this game needs a raise. On Xbox One S it runs smooth as butter and still looks better than I expected. I cannot believe they made this mode work so well on older systems. I'm extremely excited to play more. 10/10 ... show more

  • Great Game
I didn't realize how great of a game this was until the other black ops came out after it.

  • Better preforming Game then last version
In a nutshell this game works better then the previous as far as loading time and latency issues. Unfortunately there is no campaign for this version so it is a truly online game which is OK with me as I play mostly with my friends anyway. However the 2 issue I have had all along with these games, the lag issue and the mice users remains in full view. I wish they could develop a segregation method to keep those high end users of keyboards and mice from getting into games with us regular controller folks. Maybe in the future but not this time. I do enjoy the game so far. ... show more

  • Just chill
Every COD release starts off with a bunch of terrible reviews. Right now (day after launch) BO4 has 2.5 stars. Relax, y'all. Yes, it's different than previous versions, and the people who jump on here to rant don't like that. Yes, the spawns kind of suck. That said, after playing the beta and having had this for a day, my early assessment is that it's very satisfying and fun to play. There are some Overwatch elements; you choose one of a selection of characters, each with their own special abilities. You can still customize your loadout. Obviously Battle Royale is a rip of Fortnite and PUBG, but it's fun. I miss the campaign a little, but then again, I didn't play through the WWII campaign anyway. Point is, the few kinks will get worked out, and overall Black Ops 4 is well thought out and really fun. If you like to get pwned. ;-) ... show more

  • Great game overall
Multiplayer is what you would expect coming from a treyarch game. There are cinematic clips for each specialist to have backstories for each character. Also they got rid of supply drops! Looks more like a tier/battle pass system. Blackout is alot of fun and it is a good fit. Leveling system is a tad slow. Zombies at Day one was super hard to play with the health bar being so low. They listened to the commuting and increased the health as well as adjusted the points system and nurfed the tigers and hellhounds as well. I'd say they are off to a good start. I hope that they follow assassins Creed and not release another cod. Especially now that they have a BR mode it would make more sense for them to delay the next COD. Overall impressed with the game. ... show more

  • Very different Graphics, definitely a step up
Multiplayer and the new Blackout mode and both are pretty fun. Blackout is an open map basically with different maps from previous black ops games spread throughout, and they actually involve some physics in bullet drop! (not like in previous Call of Duty games). It was pretty fun, I have no complaints. The only thing is zombies keeps getting progressively more complicated with trying to follow stories, different modes, etc. But, as we noticed with BO3, they've been following that pattern of progressively complicated anyways, so this is no big surprise. They have several Zombies maps that you can play so you're not stuck on the same map, same mode if you don't want to buy DLC packs. They actually give you a few other choices on this one. ... show more

  • Decent game but please don't pay more than 30 for it
Here's the thing, COD have had some great titles. Remember the time when people used to lined-up to buy this game on the night of release? Obviously, this isn't the case anymore. They can't keep re-producing the same game and some of their experiments were disliked by many. This is yet another experiment that gives you some of the good old gameplay that people like. Yes, the gameplay feels like the older black ops with few new spins. Therefore, if you don't end up buying this title, you are not really missing anything but if you miss playing the older COD, where players can't just fly and run around the walls, than this game will match your expectation. The one thing I do hate about this game and the franchise is that, morally, (if this is still a valid dictionary word), the game should not have priced for 60 bucks. But, the game producers know that. Like I mentioned in the beginning of the review, they know the craze is gone. People like me are not planning on buying this game on day 1. Rather, we planned on waiting till black friday and read the reviews. I almost didn't buy this game after reading all the reviews, even when it went on discount but decided to trade-in some old games and thought I should give it a try and sell it back if I don't like it. Now, I did end up liking the game more than i expected and I would recommend it but I wouldn't pay more than 30 bucks for it. As you heard many many times beofre, there is no story mode. The online multiplayer mode is fun, but COD still gives you only 11 maps. You would think they would offer more maps at least to justify the cost, but, the franchise has gotten too greedy. Old news to many COD fans. Even for 30 bucks, this game isn't a great deal. Again, the game producer expected majority of the people to buy this game at discount price so this a great business strategy. Offer less for less price. Many people like myself may end up giving COD another shot, just out of all time sake. ... show more
