I use it for tool measuring all the time. As a mechanical engineer I'm fine with it. I don't need absolute flawless perfection here. It tells me what I need to know. My first battery lasted like 4 months, only. I think there's a trick with that, somewhere in the comments. I didn't see a disable automatic on , I'll need to investigate that. Otherwise you'd need to leave the battery in and let it die a slow death or take it out as far as I know. The calipers do what I need, pretty close to perfect. I'm glad I finally have one.

I'm sure there are fancier and more expensive calipers out there, but I just needed them to measure items to model in Blender and then 3D print on my Halot ONE resin printer. These worked just great. They do have an issue where the battery will shift and the calipers may stay on inadvertently but they give you 2 extra batteries just in case. It doesn't always happen but I have seen it on mine. Worth the price.

The caliper is being used for small engines. The calipers look great and feel great however under the label on the back of the LCD display there is one screw that connects the body of the caliper to the lower jaw.That is not flush and cannot be made flash.(Just an oversight ) On Amazon under product details it states the batteries required are two LR44 but on this pair of calipers it takes one CR2032.(The calipers came with one battery installed and one spare.) As you know the calipers have three measuring features .IN/MM/FRACTIONS REVERSION love the FRACTIONS REVERSION.

The tool is perfect for DIY person. The hard plastic case is perfect for storage, and it is a teriffic idea to give you an extra battery. A scientific person might want one that is a higher quality, but for 99.9% of the people in the world, this product will work perfectly. Whatever one you buy, be sure to buy one with a hard plastic case.

I love this tool but as I said the battery door fell off - I've never had this happen with previous calipers. Please send another battery door I will pay for a replacement

This review is for the "fraction" version of the caliper. I've had this for 8 months, and it is still working great. The fraction version is all metal, and there is no ambiguousness or play in the reading. I've tested it against gauge blocks and it is right on. The best feature is that unlike some cheap plastic calipers I own, is that it remembers the "0" reading when it is turned off and does not have to be re-zeroed every time, just occasionally like any instrument would. I just replaced the battery after 8 months, it takes a standard 2032 cell. I don't actually use the fraction feature, but it does look like it works if you need that. Recommended.
