Adjust both gains for high or low gain tone, then on the left with the EQ, scoop or push your tone and shape it to your liking. Both sides work individually and simultaneously. Get your motor running, and rock away. I don't give 5 star reviews for just about anything, but this pedal is perfect!! I've been playing for over 37 years now, and I've owned pretty much every pedal from $300 boutique pedals to $20 value deals. Though this pedal is only $70, is sounds like it costs a lot more! It's warm and articulate. Both gain stages work very well together with no digital clipping at all. The EQ is extremely musical and does not introduce any extraneous hiss! You are able to use the EQ and drive channels separate, or stacked. Either way, you can achieve boosted clean tones, warm overdrive tones or moderate distortion...please understand, this WILL NOT give you distortion like Metallica or Megadeath...but it achieves brilliant blues, rock or alternative sounds in spades! If you're looking for a pedal that gives you a huge variety of tone and character, this is it! For the price, you will not beat it!! ... show more

The cascading gain distortion section is reminiscent of the original Boogie amps which featured two input volume controls which had one feeding the next one to create that Carlos ultimate sustain. The distortion section in this pedal can really sing. Just when you thought it could not get better you kick in the EQ and push that 100 HZ slider way-UP, there it is, beef beyond belief in your tone. The EQ is brilliant. The only thing that would make this pedal better is a switch that reversed the order of the effects for more tone options. At this build-quality, price and tonal output this pedal is a no-brainer for anyone who loves crunchy tones. Good Music To You! ... show more

    • A decent dual FX (EQ + Boost), but not appeal to my ears

This is a decent budget dual EQ + Boost/Distortion effects with independent buttons. There are not many FX pedals out there having two effects to use: EQ or Boost and/or both together. I returned mine within 30 minutes after playing around though (it wasn’t bad; it’s just not my style of sound). I noticed they didn't have the right sound what I know about EQs in these: 800hz, 1.6khz, and 3.2khz. This Caline pedal brand is naturally “mid/treble” and more "trebly+presense'ish'" rather than PRESENCE with nice "sizzles" like my Boss and DOD pedals. So it just doesn't get those high frequencies I wanted. BOOST: It does work, but they're very "mid/treble’ish” as well. When increasing more distortion, it’ll get the same mid/treble GAIN. That doesn’t appeal to my ears. So if you have a natural "scoop" tones in your amp, then you might like this one to tame your sound. Like I said, it’s a good solution to have two independent effects in one box with only one power to use. It’s great and a darn nice price item, but it’s just not my type of sound. I’m more of a Marshall/Mesa Boogie/EVH 5153 thing… so, I think this dual FX pedal might work for the right guitar player; just not for me. ... show more

Good pedal for the value. Colors some pedals well and others meh..... I really dig using it after some fuzz and eq'n it to that 300$+ FUZZ sound. If your on a budget to change the sound of your amp this pedal also can help . Is it perfect.... Lord no.... here are some of the noticeable flaws: (1) It can get outside noise interference when too close to certain items. I noticed it with bluetooth stuff... made a click and buzz noise in the signal. (2) The gain side has a noticable volume scoop when used with louder pedals before it. Even cranked up It will drop some Db. (3) the switches felt stiffer than the other caline pedals I have purchased. For the price its worth the sounds your gonna get. and I have had a lot of luck with all the caline products I've bought so far. 4 stars. ... show more

Wow, this might be my favorite pedal ever. It's got me rethinking my whole rig. Wide range of tones with 2 knobs and the eq lets you really sculpt the sound. It's definitely meant to be used as one whole pedal, not 2.

I have another Caline dual pedal (the delay and chorus) which I really like. With this Easy Driver I thought that the EQ would be more independent of the distortion side. It's not. The onboard EQ is vital to making the distortion sound decent as the Gains on the distortion side aren't capable of any real tone-shaping. ... show more
