This dollhouse is beautiful. It has cute little balcony windows and a sweet terrace in the back. Assembly was a total breeze. I have a few small qualms with it though. The floors could be just a smidge larger to make more room for the furniture to fit well. Also, the top floor doesn’t always nicely lock into place with the ground floor very well. I think my biggest annoyance is that the ceiling lights aren’t included with the item and cost $15 a piece, so by the time you’re done getting lights — lights that don’t even shine that brightly, might I add — you’re spending an extra $60. Other than that, the house is very cute for my critters and provides a nice presentation for their display. ... show more

    • Not for young children. Nothing snaps together.
I wish I could give this 0 stars because I am so disappointed. This is NOT suitable for young children. The stairs and the wooden "expandable" flooring doesn't click together. The room attachment, opposite side of the secret attic, doesn't snap together with the first floor. Literally rests on top of the first floor room. The first floor room is too deep and dark and impossible to play in. When my kids put their hands inside this room, the second floor room, that's not attached, gets knocked around. My daughter was like, everything keeps shifting, I don't like this. I'm so sad and she is so disappointed. This was a birthday present. I can't return it because it was all opened and my husband threw the original box away. ... show more

Purchased the gift set version of the house. The ceilings are lower than other calico critter houses (beechwood and the original country home). The furniture also isn’t as high quality as the fabric cushioned living room set, or bunk beds that can be purchased separately. I do like the option to add lights on the ceiling but the lights that come with the house don’t offer much illumination. Overall, it’s ok — but I wouldn’t have purchased it had I known this — and that second hand calico critter houses go for much less elsewhere. ... show more
