    • Do not last due to design flaws
All the GE Cafe dishwashers do not last more than a few years and become unusable due to key design flaw that is not addressed in the manual and is difficult to troubleshoot and fix. The most common problem is that the machines stop recognizing that the door is closed and refuse to start the wash cycle, even though the door and latch are properly installed, the door sensor is working, and all other electronic parts appear to be working. There is no way to diagnose the issue, and what ends up happening is that owners are told to replace the motherboard, which is expensive to do yourself and even more expensive to have done by a technician. This may solve the problem for a while, but then the problem recurs. These are poorly designed dishwasher, and selling them is bordering on unethical business practice. ... show more

    • Not my favorite
We built a new house and took the advice of a trusted appliance company we deal with a lot. We have been fans of Bosch dishwashers for years, but GE was having a special - we needed a range, refrigerator, dishwasher and microwave and there was a big rebate program in place. So we went with the GE Cafe models to get the rebates. What we like about this dishwasher: - Stylish - Gets the dishes really clean What we HATE about it: - It takes forever to run a cycle (anywhere from 2-3.5 hours depending on the cycle you select) - The lower rack goes off the track all the time. This might seem like a minor complaint, but I've never had this problem with any other dishwasher. It doesn't matter if its full or empty. It's a crappy design. So if you don't mind waiting a long time for really clean dishes - this is for you. ... show more
