A bit larger than a snug fit, although I knew my head circumference to be a little smaller than the actual measurement. This is an advantage, however since I typically wear a bandana over my neck tucked into the cap. The only drawback is the bill is shorter than expected. I have a large head, most hats I wear an xl or xxl. I ordered an XL in this hat even after reading reviews that it ran a little large. At first I was not happy, but then I read another review that after going into the washer and dryer, it shrank. Had I ordered a size smaller, it would have fit out of the package, but after a wash and dry it would be too small. After washing and drying my XL it now fits perfectly and now I don't have to worry about it getting any smaller! ... show more

I purchased the black and green hats as well and the L size fits great. The winter camo is really big for some reason and slides down my head and pushes my ears out. The Black and Green hats fit perfectly though. *06/09/2023 - After I washed and dried the hat on medium heat, the hat fits great.
