It's a nice hat. Since they size these as large, xl, xxl and so forth, I had to guess which size would fit my big head. 7-3/4, but the xxl I ordered is a little loose. They should stick with actual hat sizes. It is Stetson after all. Plus it showed up covered with dust like it had been sitting out on a shelf in a warehouse. I was a little leery to order this hat as there were some reviews that were critical of the packaging and a couple of folks received hats that were damaged by shipping. I received my Stetson Airway Panama hat today in a specially designed box for hats and in PERFECT condition. I am thrilled at the fit, I wear a 7 7/8 and the XXL fit perfectly. The Guinness Book of World Records has been hounding me to appear in the annual book as I apparently have the World's Largest Head (R.I.P. Andre the Giant) and this is the best fit I have ever had. It fits perfectly on my head, not too low or too high for my taste. I fully expect a film career to develop from my first public wearing of this hat and I am taking autograph pre-orders for the low, low price of $5! Truly, all the good things I said are absolutely true, just wanted to provide some balance to those who had a less pleasant experience. ... show more

    • Shipping Mistake

The hat is what I expected. However, the hat was shipped in a box which was too small. The hat was dented. It took me a while to get it back in the right shape. This mistake should not have happened.

This hat arrived 2x as the wrong size. Correct size marked on sticker on plastic wrap. Totally different size marked on inside of hat. Nobody checked. Poor quality control. Inconvenient having to return 2 hats. Otherwise, hat looked nice.

This is a most excellent Panama hat. It's vented so your head doesn't get so hot in the summer and it's brim provides excellent sun protection for your eyes. Also it comes with a leather draw string which you can tighten up under your chin during windy conditions so your hat doesn't blow off.

I have been wearing Stetson for 60 years. There is not a better hat on the market. I only gave 4 stars in this review because this particular hat has already begun to fray at the top of the crown.
