Well, the extensions make their job, however, if you add more cables to the already messed cable management in your case it will increase the volume of the stuff in the rear side, for that reason, I suggest you to purchase the sleeved cable replacement kit that Cablemod sells that basically replace all the PSU cables with longer sleeved ones and in that way you can control better the cable management; there is something that kit had and is the fact that almost all plastic connectors came with some uncutted edges and you have to manually make the "path" to fit them.... ... show more

It will always depend on your case, and power supply, however I think these are too long. I have the Phanteks Evolv X, and Fractal ion+ 860w which sadly cablemod doesn't make cables for. The original(fractal) cables would not reach the usual route people would take, however are fine for the little PSU shroud cut out for GPU cables, except that the daisy chained extra PCIe connector would be visible. This of course is a very short run, so nearly any extension will be long on top of all the original cable...however I doubt there's many cases with the need for 45cm extensions. I knew these would be more stiff than the originals(with paracord sleeves), however I guess I didn't think that would be as much of an issue. If there's one thing that would maybe improve issues with stiffness, it would be to package them in a larger circle of a wrap instead of back and forth hard angles which have to be straitened out. Would mean more issues like larger shipping costs to an extent, and package cost...however it would be nice for the customer. ... show more

Well worth the money. Looks great in my computer, the colors you see is exactly what you get. The cables are a little stiff so some bending and molding is needed but that's not a very big deal.

( excuse the ugly routing I haven't had time to clean it up yet ) Bought this because my previous kit from another brand only had two and my 3080ftw3 needed one more. The quality is pretty good for the price. My only complaint is they're very stiff the two cables to the left are from a different manufacturer and are a nice softer sleeving so they're easier to route and flex. This cable was extremely stiff and the sleeving is a harder material so it's not easy to make it bend how you like it. I will say once it's bent to shape it does hold the shape well. The included cable comes are pretty nice except theyre a little loose fitting. The other cables came with the typical push on combs and they stay in place better than these. I found if they are in a straight vertical orientation they tend to slide down slightly ... show more

Buying custom cables can be difficult if your power supply isn’t one of the few super popular units and super expensive units, or impossible if your power supply isn’t modular. The beauty of the Cable Mods extension kit is that it will work with any build. A huge upside to this kit over others is that it comes from a trusted company. Cable Mods is the best in the business, there is no worry that they used thin gauge wire that will catch fire under heavy load. This is a top notch kit. The kit is also complete and will work with 99% of builds. I needed two 8-pin connectors for an RTX 3080 and an 8-pin+4-pin EPS connector for the CPU. I also did not want to use pigtail connectors, I wanted every connection to have its own dedicated cable. This kit got the job done. It might be the most expensive kit, but you get much more than the cheaper kits from other companies. They even throw in some extra cable combs for good measure. The only drawback that I found is the sheathing is thick. I had a difficult time installing the NZXT rgb cable combs. Paracord would have been easier. Hardly a criticism though. Pricey for what you get. Very nice sleeving and Amazon free shipping beats paying $20 shipping direct from cable mod. The connectors are a bit finicky. One pcie connector i had a pin push out when connecting. Upon inspection the pin was bent inside the housing and I had to use a tiny screwdriver to correct. Cablemod also needs to update their cable packs for newer gpus requiring 3x pcie cables. Their only fix is bundling a separate standalone cable at the users cost. Just add another sku for the same price... Summary. Good quality cables and sleeving,. A tad stiff and hard to route / sharp turns. ... show more

At first, I couldn't find the cable combs except for the four combs in a tiny bag. I actually thought they were missing. Even bought more! Turns out, after looking at them in better light, the combs are all bunched together on one side and blended with the connector. The picture shows them slightly separated. I still used the extra combs bought for further visual improvement. Do note that the four combs included does make sense for the one CPU cable that has the option to split it apart. So all cables have closed cable combs except this one CPU cable. And thus the extra combs included. Cables look great and work great! ... show more

These are extremely expensive for what they are. While it was worth it to me, I don't recommend these extensions if you're on any sort of budget. The quality of the material seems fine to me and it looks absolutely fantastic in my gunmetal/black build. Makes my PC look very sleek. One thing that I really want to see changed is the labeling on the extensions. Currently there's no labeling on the cables and it would be helpful if they were labeled "VGA" and "CPU." ... show more
