The quality is really good and very happy with, however, there is an issue with the design that you will see repeated in all the comments below (see pics). The bar does not fit through the eyebolt unless you tear off the cushion foam on one side of the handle. Not a huge deal but it has to be a manufacturer issue. I bought two of these and have not used them yet, but one of them did not come with the bag as was advertised! Edit: I’m changing this from one star to three as they are sending me a complete new unit for no charge with no return expected. However the eye on the post is too small to accept the handle WITH the foam. Removing or squeezing down the foam on the handle will work, just awkward. ... show more

Bought this as a stern anchor for my 20' pontoon boat to keep it from swaying side to side on a windy day. We use this on a lake with a sandy bottom in about 2.5' - 3.5' of water. I wasn't sure if it would work, being underwater and tied off at the top of the shaft. This worked great! I screwed it in about 8" - 10". The wind pulled the boat and the anchor leaned a little but the anchor held it's ground. I tried to pull it out but it wouldn't budge. When it came time to leave I tried pulling and it wouldn't come out. I used the cross bar and it still wouldn't move. I had to unscrew it almost all the way before I could pull it out. A friend of mine was with me and wanted to see how this anchor performed. After that day he went out and bought one for his boat. ... show more

I highly recommend bvgauxd Sand Anchor. I do kayak a lot on sand bar and swallow water with fast currents. It is really hard for grapnel style anchor hold my watercraft and you can find that it always drifts. That is the main problem that always trouble me. So I need to find a anchor can keep my PWC securely near shore or sand bar. Then , i decide to give a chance to this anchor and it works perfect. Firstly, this anchor made by stainless steel material and it is really tough I can use it under any situation. Others, it is very easy to set up and storage. The total length of this anchor is 36 inch. You may need to dive under to twist the anchor into the sand when where the depth is over a couple feet. If not so, You only need to auger into sand and tie with the bungee dock line. That is everything that you need to need to keep your secure your watercraft. I only ordered one because I wanted to see the quality I have to say I'm pretty impressed. I don't want I'm going to actually use it for a month or two because we live here in the Midwest and it's cold outside, it looks like it will work just fine for our 22 foot bennington. The bag seems pretty cheap and I'm sure it won't take long to get a hole in it but that's fine it was under $60 shipped this see now that the price went up a little bit though. ... show more

The main con to this anchor is that the ring is too small. Had to remove a cushion to get the handle to fit through the ring. After that, there is not enough room in the ring to secure a line as shown in the illustrations.
