I purchased this bug zapper hoping it would be quieter than the multiple units I’ve bought in the past because I have several dogs, and they’re terrified of loud bug zappers. This one has honestly exceeded my expectations. It’s much quieter than the others I’ve used before, which has made a huge difference in my home. The only downside I’ve noticed is that it doesn’t seem to attract flies very well. However, it does a great job killing mosquitoes, gnats, and other small flying insects. I would rate this as a 4.5 because I do need the flies killed as well, but overall, I’m still very happy with this purchase and would recommend it to anyone looking for a quieter option.

You never know if a Chinese electronic gadget like this is going to work when buying from Amazon. This one really works. It has attracted and zapped every fruit fly, housefly, and mosquito that has dared to enter my abode. It's easy to clean, and it's small enough to be out of the way, but large enough to attract the intruders. It also seems to be very power efficient. I have it set on a shelf in the family room, back to the wall, and I keep a paper towel under it extending out the front a few inches, because sometimes the zaps hurl the bugs outwards a few inches rather than catching them in the tray. If a small insect like a mosquito hits it, there's a little "snap" sound. If a bigger insect like a large housefly hits it, there's a series of snaps which can be a little alarming at first as the electrocution commences and draws out to the finale, but it's not as bad as that scene in The Green Mile where the guard didn't use the sponge. Overall, it definitely works. Abandon hope, all ye bugs who enter here! Ye shall die! ☠️😁

Cool light color buuuuuuuuutt Does NOT work. I had the light on in garage where I tinker with my lowriders. Only reason I bought this cause of the mosquitos that attack my legs. I put it up to do it magic and all I got was a cool colored light. Still got bit, still got welts all of the legs. They had a feast and the little purple light just sat there doing absolutely nothing but showing a nice color.

Lightweight, bigger than I expected as I was not paying attention the size, about the size of a large binder but narrow in depth to the point it will not stand on it's own very well, will be easy to knock over. -1 star for being unstable to stand. Unit makes no noise or hum, unless it is frying an insect. Electric grid is only on 1 side of the unit, if you have the unit up against a wall or obstruction make sure that side is facing the room. We bought this unit to break a fruit fly infestation that began when a piece of fruit escaped the counter and was not found until it was too late. Fruit flies are pretty small, but this zapper is very effective in lighting them up. Makes a very satisfying crackle when it has another victim. The unit comes with a small plastic brush you can use to clean the critters that get stuck to the grid, there is a removable and washable collection tray to make discarding the crispy critters easy. The lights seem effective in drawing in insects, very effective at night if it is the only item emitting light. According to the manual the bulbs are replaceable but there is no indictor of when you should replace them, other than the perception the unit is losing effectiveness in drawing in insects. It does seem simple to replace the bulbs if needed. The unit is lightweight and the strap you can use to hang the unit is very sturdy. We have had the unit for a few days, by the 2nd day of running 24 hours a day the fruit fly population had collapsed. Based on the number of dead bugs in the cleaning tray, the unit is very effective.

Had some drain gnat issue (pre-war nyc building) this spring. They didn’t give a flying f about the sticky plug-in traps, but my god this thing was a life saver. Still had to deal with the root cause, but indoors having this - and the lowkey satisfying jumpscare zaps - really helped to control the adult population. And my sanity working from home as they felt the need to join me in every conference call. Bless.

I’ve been using this bug zapper indoors and it does a good job reducing small insects, especially at night. One thing to note is the size — it’s bigger than I expected based on the photos. That can be a good thing because it covers more area, but make sure you have enough space for it. Setup is simple, just plug it in and place it in a darker area. The light attracts bugs, and over time you can notice fewer around the room. It’s also relatively quiet, which makes it suitable for bedrooms or indoor use. For better results, I recommend placing it away from other light sources so it can attract more insects.
