My daughter loves the hot air balloon. The section where the fire goes will not stay together no matter how hard I snap it, so I'm constantly fixing it. I'm going to take it apart to have my co-op group assemble it together. The pieces were kind of hard for my adult hands to get together, let alone my almost six year old. I think these will be fun to play with even without the parts that make it a balloon. They remind me of k'nex from when I was a kid. The directions were pretty easy to follow. The pictured pieces are cardboard, so I'm not sure how long they'll last being played with, but the structural pieces are hard plastic. I'm not sure I'd buy at the price point they're at, but these were great as an activity for fine motor skills and stem. ... show more

We had a fun time building the hot air balloon along with the unicorn set. We especially thought it was easy to punch out the high quality beautifully colored cardboard. The instructions were super easy to follow and the girls were able to build the sets with very little help from adults.
