  • Handles .45-70 recoil, BUT small eye box
Handles .45-70 recoil and makes a great scout rifle set up. This is especially so given the skinny tube diameter, as you can use low mount rings to keep scope in line with eye on lever or bolt gun. I have it on a Marlin .45-70. The cross-hairs are simple but they work. Glass quality is average or better for a scope in this price range. Have another long-eye-relief scope by Burris that is similar to this one, but is variable power and is for a revolver; this one has a smaller eye box and is a little harder to use, but the rifle keeps your eye in line for the most part. 5/5 stars. ... show more

  • Clear glass, easy to dial in
Great scope. Can't go wrong with Burris. I mounted this on a bullpup that had a far forward pic rail, and it works a treat.

  • Great
As advertised, good scope for midrange , 400-yards not an issue when u get use to it.

  • Love the Scout Rifle Concept
Installed on Ruger GSR .308 with 1" Warne QD Low rings Note: (Ghost ring sights do not obstruct view at all with these low rings) I wear glasses and having the focus feature is great! I almost bought the Leupold 2.5x but glad I didn't from reading reviews from folks with glasses (blurry and thin reticle). Living in Western Washington lots of trees and under brush 300+ yd shots are rare unless you come across a clear cut or farm land. Sighted in and shot targets at 25yds and a 9" steel plate at 150 yds standing with Galco Ching Sling (very) fast target sighting compared to standard rear mounted scopes when it can take a while to find the relief and then the target. shooting both eyes open was quickly adapted, seeing the target and pivoting the rifle from the low ready position with elbow in Ching Sling BAM! that fast. if you are on the fence on buying this Scope like I was don't hesitate, I absolutely love this Scope / Rifle and the Scout Rifle concept (THANX COOP!). you can acquire a target fast with this set up. • Solid Scout Scope
The Burris Scout Scope is a decent little optic, with advertised eye relief of 8.5”-14”, which I agree with. Most surprising about this scope is despite the small optic diameter, it still lets in a decent amount of light. The low frills reticle works for short to medium range targets, however it’s a bit broad for anything beyond 300 yards, which is after all the theoretical limit of a scout rifle. My one complaint is the anti-glare treatment doesn’t seem to be effective indoor, under artificial light. I know what you’re thinking, why are you shooting that at an indoor range...? Droughts suck. ... show more

  • Great Scope!
I bought and mounted this thing a few months ago. Took it to the range, zeroed in very quickly. Shortly after I went hog hunting and bagged one from about 150 yards, spot on. I haven't used it long enough to rate some areas just yet, but my initial reaction is this is a great scope. Good eye relief, very easy to acquire the clear sight picture. It is mounted to a Ruger Scout using the Medium Warne Scope Mounts. ... show more

  • Terrible scope
The box showed up damaged. I did not get a chance to shoot it until day 31 of it showing up. Scope looked to be ok but after 15 shots on a Marlin 45-70 the cross hairs rotated 20 degrees inside the tube. ABCD Sales won't take it back because I waited until day 31 to request a return. 30 is their policy. So they are no help. Burris will of course replace it but this is my 3rd bad Burris since February. Burris is no longer a quality company and will never get another penny of my money. ABCD Sports will also never get any of my business again. ... show more
