Bumkins Chewtensils are intended for Stage 1 of baby led weaning – introducing babies to the concept of holding a utensil and feeding themselves. We made Chewtensils from soft, textured silicone that’s easy to grip and is gentle on tender gums, with bendable heads for safety. Introduce babies to self-feeding by giving them utensils that can be chewed on before transitioning to silverware. They are perfect for dipping into pureed foods at the early part of baby led weaning. Chewtensils are intended for babies before they have a firm grasp on self-feeding; best for dipping and scooping, not yet piercing solid foods. The back of the spoon head has sensory bumps to stimulate gums. Made from 100-percent food-safe silicone. BPA-free, BPS-free, PVC-free, phthalate-free, cadmium-free and lead-free. Dishwasher-safe. For ages 6 months and up. Each measure approximately 3in long, 1.75in wide. Do not leave child unattended with product. Discard if damaged or torn. Designed in Arizona, responsibly made in China.

My baby loves to use these utensils. He definitely feels more encouraged and confident using them. The only downside is that the fork struggles to be used properly due to the fact that it doesn’t pick up food quite the same. Otherwise they are easy for him to hold and of course kind of chew on in between bites. This is the 4th set of these toddler utensils we’ve gotten, and overall, they’re great! Easy for my toddlers to use, a great size and shape for their hands, for the most part very sturdy. I say for the most part, because the metal core of the fork handle started poking through the silicon at the bottom after just 2 or 3 uses. We’ve had no issue with 2 of our other pairs, and it happened to one of our other sets after a few months, but I thought that might have been because one of our toddlers had been chewing on the handle. This time, though, it happened almost immediately when no chewing had occurred. It might just have been a manufacturing defect on the one, but that’s the reason I give these 4 stars instead of 5. ... show more

The handles are easy to hold. The fork tines are shaped odd curved instead of flat. Both fork and spoon are large for toddler mouths.

These are great starter utensils if you have a dexterous child the fork will not stab. I don’t really use them find them a little pointless.
