    • Confusing, Unclear Instructions - but figured it out
Confusing and unclear instructions. After re-reading the instructions several times, calling the Bulova customer service, and getting answers to my posted questions, I think I finally figured it out. The Time Set Dial is flat, black, about 1/2"-3/4" diameter, located near the pendulum. Unfortunately the instructions do not include a diagram of this dial nor describe it's location, but they do make clear that this dial should only be turned counter-clockwise to move the hands of the clock. There is another smaller, raised Black Nob labeled Volume, that can be turned to control the volume. Then there is a very small, raised Red Button labeled "Set Button". This button is for setting the Chimes to coordinate with the appropriate hour. Initially I got the Time and the Chimes out of sync. What worked for me was to first Set the Time with the flat, black dial. Then Set the Chimes by pushing (not turning) the red button, in rapid succession, the number of times that corresponds to the hour in military time. For example: if you're setting the time at 6 AM push the red button six times. If you're setting the time at 6 PM, push the red button 18 times. This may not be the best or most logical way to get this clock to function, but it seems to have worked for me. Also, when you first get the clock, the pendulum is secured with a rubber band, but even after I removed the rubber band I still had to push on the pendulum to get it dislodged from being wedged in place. Goldilocks size clock with very nice melodic tone and pitch of chimes. I use the Ave Maria one which is uniquely different from the usual Westminster or Whittington choices. This was an anniversary gift from me to me. Bulova did not disappoint. It sits on a shelf in my smaller hobby/craft room. It could be overlooked in a larger space, still it will be ideal in a study, library or on a guest room nightstand as well. This clock is not ornate, but has classic lines, and the brass pendulum and trim strike a pleasing balance against the wood body. Happy with my purchase. ... show more

Bulova Dalton Chiming Pendulum Table Clock - Walnut Finish - Gold-Tone Accents Dimensions: H: 9.5 W: 6.25 D: 3.75 THE GOOD 1. cute 2. small 3. lightweight 4. low priced 5. three melodies: Westminster, Ave Maria, Bim Bam 6. pretty church bell tone 7. volume control 8. uses AA batteries which I have a charger for THE SO-SO (nothing really bad) 1. can hang on wall but I had to drill a small hole in the top of the back panel to put a small piece of wire through to hold the panel securely in place for wall hanging using the big hole in back of the panel that slides upward and back to remove 2. slots in face ring nut uneven, canted at an angle 3. hourly chimes only, no quarter chimes 4. pendulum hangs sloping rearward as if facing downward toward the front, bob disk not in perfect vertical plane 5. chimes begin at one minute before the hour and not on the hour 6. instructions rather verbose 7. but what the devil, this little charm retailed for under $70 with shipping from amazon Hopefully, this proves to be an accurate and long-lived chiming battery clock. ... show more

This sweet little clock has everything I was looking for. Chimes every hour with the choice of three different chimes. I personally like Westminster. With adjustable volume. What can I say, it makes me happy. You’ll love it if you’re looking for a small chiming clock that packs a big punch.
