  • Useful information
If you have a panic room, armory, walk in vault, or a secret man-cave that you want nobody to know about than this book is for you to the untrained eye it's just a shelf with junk on it but behind that shelf is a room that contains all that you hold dear and value.

  • Horrifically Terrible.
This "book" is terrible. When I ordered it there was a three star rating, I am not sure now that is possible. Lots of books have low ratings, so I ordered it, books seem to bring out purchasers real opinions and low ratings. This is a one star book. It is a fraud. This item has no actual value. The carpentry that the book recommends is unworthy of putting down in a book of any kind. The directions are vague, incorrect, and the end result will not provide a bookshelf, never mind one that could be considered a door. It is not strong enough, and does not work. There is absolutely not one mention of hardware or latching mechanisms. The are spelling and grammar mistakes. This is a pamphlet for a website that is terrible as well. I purchased this from amazon.com, and they should not be selling it. They say it has 24 pages, not true, it has about 10. The last eight (8!) pages are blank. I feel ripped off and lied to. • Lays the framework, but if your expecting a step by step guide not for you
I bought this book for the spacing and size dimensions for an in swing door using normal hinges so I didn’t have to worry about making adjustments after I Hung the frame. My door is much smaller than the example. Super easy to make adjustments off the example to size as needed based on the rough opening. I used pine plywood and flooring underlayment to build the structure and bought iron on edging since I was going to paint it white anyway and it came out great for less than 100 bucks. Add extra screws after you air nail it together for a stronger structure. No latch details in the book, but their is enough clearance to place simple magnet cabinet closures at the top and bottom...I used a battery operated hidden key card cabinet closure and super happy...just had to notch the frame after it was in to provide clearance. yes the dimensions are out of order in the book...My advice don’t cut the bottom 2 shelf supports but cut the rest of the shelf supports as identified in the book. After that are all cut rearrange them to put the biggest set at the bottom. Lay them all out using a piece of scrap to get the spacing correct then cut your frame. It will be the right size to go into a rough opening. I finished the carpentry for this door in less than 4 hours and it worked perfect once I hung it. Pictures suck BTW ... show more

  • I love the concept.
It is a little crude, but tells you that it something that anyone can make. It leaves the mind open to all sorts of possibilities.

  • Poor quality.
The pictures are so dark you can hardly make them out. This looks like it was done on someone's home printer. The instructions are very vague.

  • Lack of details to hang/hinge the door
Bought this basically for detailed instructions as to how to hang a hidden door. Does not give any details as to how to place the hinges. In my opinion, the book itself is mediocre as to the building of the door itself even Completely disappointed in what I thought I was getting in the book. Would not recommend purchasing it. ... show more
