I read older reviews of this item and it scared me. But recent reviews suggested reliability issues have corrected. The very first time i go to power this amp on out of standby , And it blows the fuse....twice. After a bit of research i've come to the conclusion its likely a bad power tube causing the fuse to blow. I never got to play it, and im sending it back. Do not know if i want a replacement yet. but im discouraged....beware. ... show more

  • Awesome Tone! Great Build Quality! Easily serviceable power tubes 4.5 stars!
Bought this about two years ago when they were going for $549.00. Wanted a 5150 / 6505 ish sounding amp but did not want to pay those prices so i "took my chances". Item arrived excellently packed, included footswitch and tubes. Read all the horror stories about QC Issues (own a dozen amps including Fender, Engl, Vox, Carvin) and can say that this one has been a workhorse (cant say the same for an ENGL E651 that fried a transformer and two power tube resistors after less than 10 hours of use). Played around 6 shows with it, have rehearsed and practiced at home about 50 hours with it (using a Weber Mass 200 Attenuator this one is loud!) no issues at all. Negatives: reverb is not too great, a little noisier than my other amps when maxing the gain, bottom end is not as tight as the real one. Pros: excelent base tone, eq section provides flexibility, independent eq on both channels, takes drive pedals like a champ, no need to bias the amp when swapping tubes. ... show more

  • It has a very nice clean channel
This head has exceeded my expectations. It has a very nice clean channel. The crunch side of the clean channel is surprising versatile. The lead channel is absolutely amazing. It sounds even better when boosted with an OD pedal. And this thing is LOUD! It really cuts through in a band setting.

  • Cheap amp is worth even less than you pay for it.
Just bought one of these after trying (and failing) to find a Peavey 5150 II for a decent price. I figured I’m just a home player and this amp (even though Chinese) should be good enough. WRONG. I pulled it from the box new and set it up the first time. Let it warm up and tried out the clean sounds on channel 1. Decent. Switched it to the crunch setting and it was ok. I was honestly not really impressed with any of the sounds but I figured for 1/3 the price of some other amps it HAD to be good enough. Then I hit the bright switch while in crunch mode with my guitar volume up. HOOOWWWLLL went the amp. I clicked the bright switch back off and the howl went away but I was noticing a slight “cocked wah” sound at all times on the crunch mode. I experimented a bit and found that anytime I had a guitar with the volume full up, bright and crunch on, I had the same noise. Turning off bright or crunch immediately stopped the noise, but turning down the gain actually caused the howl to change pitch. I contacted the retailer and I’m returning the amp. Totally lived DOWN to it’s reputation. ... show more

  • For the price...you can't beat it
This head is a great deal. Sounds pretty close to a 5150, like it should. It is very loud. I purchased with the Bugera 412F-BK cab and it is a great combo. Would recommend.

This is my 2nd Bugera 6262 amp I've owned (the first being the non infinium model). The build quality is excellent, and you can't beat the bang for your buck.

  • Great amp, terrific bargain. Great amp, terrific bargain.
Mine never leaves the house so I run it au natural so it looks awesome in all its 6L6 tubey glory and it stays cool which is great for extending parts longevity (see photo). There is so much misinformation out there about this company and its products that I thought I'd address that first. I'm the former National Warranty Manager for Mitsubishi Electronics, and ran service for Nakamichi before they went belly up in the 90's, so I know a little more than the average musician about how consumer electronics are designed and built. There is nothing substandard about these amps. The parts quality, design and construction are the same as you get from other manufacturers. Molex connectors are extremely common in consumer electronics gear and certainly not an indicator of inferior quality. The two most expensive parts of any tube amp are the power and output transformers and the ones in the Bugera look more than capable. If you are having problems with an older version of this amp I would recommend doing what I do to any piece of audio gear more than a few years old; opening the Molex connectors and hitting them with DeOxit and then reconnecting before swapping tubes or trying anything else. Any push-on connector can become a source of trouble and these, as is normal at all but the highest price points are not gold-plated so they will oxidize over time. Hitting the tube sockets with DeOxit wouldn't hurt either. As to the amp itself, I love it. It's quiet, plays loud and has three different profiles you can switch between with the push of a button. I have mine hooked up to massive stack of four fifteens and two twelves and it rocks my little world like nobody's business. If all you want is gobs of raw tube power with plenty of flexibility and don't really care about brand prestige, go for it. ... show more
