OK...I am a beginner jumper. Initially I bought the cross fit cable jump rope. These are the thin wire ropes coated in PVC. It looked cool and I really like the thin rope wiring. I used it for a while...but something was missing...just didn't feel right. I then went on YouTube to look around regarding jump ropes and stumbled onto Buddy Lee videos. This guys is unreal with the jump rope. Anyhow, got to watching him and saw that he was selling some jump ropes. I went on Amazon and found these Hyperformance jump ropes. A bit more pricier than the cross fit cables which were under twenty bucks. A bit hesitant...and I was really unsure about the thicker rope this came with...but seeing Buddy's videos, I decided to give it a try. Why not... I received these quickly...and started to use this rope. Immediately, I felt the feeling I was missing from the thin light wire rope I mentioned before. It was the balanced weight of the rope. Heavier...but very nice feedback. I could keep a decent rhythm since i could hear the slapping of the rope on the ground and the weight it carried. Not really heavy per se....but heavier than the wire ropes. I could now jump continuously without skipping a beat. On the wire ropes, I constantly lost my rhythm and tangled up, halting my jumping which was very annoying. I can see where the cross fit ropes come into play well if you are very good a jump roping...but as a beginner, the Buddy lee ropes sealed the deal. Even as I get better, I feel I will stay with this rope...just given the perfect weight it carries for me. It just feels right!!! Only thing i regret...is not buying the extra rope some of the other options sold on Amazon. Should have bought the extra rope. Anyhow...too late for that...but if this rope breaks on me...I will be buying another replacement rope immediately. Just a great rope...love it!!!

Love the handles, anodized aluminum, foam grips are easy to grip. Handles are 5/8 thick and the foam brings them up to 1 inch thick. Comes with 2 pairs of swivels and they do spin nice. The cord is 5mm thick PVC with a 1mm hole down the middle. This is how the cord easily screws into the swivels, makes changing cords a breeze. This is my favorite rope for working out. Make sure you realize that this is not a cable rope but PVC cord, big difference. Both types have their pros and cons. Speaking of, Buddy Lee just came out with the "Green Hornet Cable" for these handles, easy to screw on and off cable to rope and vice versa. Not available on Amazon yet but hopefully soon. I highly recommend this jump rope and have not experienced any of the quality control issues that other reviewers have mentioned. Makes skipping fun.

The Aerospeed handles are amazing, however, the plastic rope it came with is not! After seeing the reviews, I went ahead and ordered an RX cable off their website. When the Aerospeed arrived I immediately through the stock plastic rope away and installed the RX cable. It was a huge pain getting the cable on, I even busted one of the bearings doing it... though once it's finally installed this jump rope AWESOME! PROS: Handles are great quality and overall performance is better when using an RX branded cable. CONS: Stock plastic rope is complete crap.

This is my second buddy Lee jump rope and I wouldn’t use any other brand. Great construction smooth operation. If you’re looking for a serious rope to skip with drop the extra coin and get this one

Handle is nice but slippery. The included “adjustable” grips are only essentially thick rubber bands that do a decent job but move around. Maybe if you found the perfect position, you could glue them on. The main problem is with the way the cable connects with the handle. Looks good….. but that metal cable holder adds weight , feedback , feedback and noise. Every time the cable makes a revolution…. You literally feel and hear the action. Yes the bearings are smooth that’s not what’s making the noise or feedback. That jump ring some how needs to be eliminated!!

Significantly worse than the first version of the Buddy Lee Aero Speed Jump Rope... Rope is heavier. Handles are longer, skinnier, but heavier and less ergonomic. You're expected to cut the rope to your size, but it has a metal material going through the interior that makes it impossible to cut. I destroyed two pairs of scissors attempting to cut the rope. The metal also makes the rope noticeably heavier than the original version. I have no idea what purpose this metal thread serves, but it has ruined what was once a great product.

I've been through three different types of ropes before getting to this one--I went from a plain plastic rope to a leather rope with weighted handles to a speed rope to the Buddy Lee Hyperperformance Master Rope, and this one is by far the best. The Master Rope was good, but the handles are really long, so it takes extra effort to turn the rope over (especially after burned out shoulders from a boxing workout). My coach has this rope, so I checked it out and I loved it. There is great balance between the handles and the rope, and the turns are so smooth. I use this for my boxing workouts--HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
