Update: After communicating with the company, I was told that the reading is what’s closest to the heating element. And it doesn’t give the temperature of the true reading of the entire tank. So I will get a floating thermometer to see how that goes. I won’t be placing a fish in there until I am sure of the temperature. The company was very prompt in their responses. Going to upgrade to 4 stars. If I’m not satisfied, I will get a heater to add to my tank. Giving it a two star for now. Because there is a heater but no control and the water keeps getting hotter. Looks like it will go to 99°. Way too hot for any fish! If you can’t regulate the water temperature, why even add the heater? If the heater is on all night, my fish is dead in the morning. I did send a message to the company, so I will report back if and when they reply. Other than that, it’s a very cute set up. We will see how easy it is to clean when it’s time. For now, disappointed.

This tiny little tank has it all. It has all the equipment required - and then some - and it presents everything in one sleek look. Who of us has not bent and wiggled behind furniture to identify the plug that goes to filter/heater/pump/light?! This smart little tank has a touch pad to access all the standard functions right at the front - plus it displays the water temperature. The lid holds the LED light that can toggle between 8 lighting modes - happy plants! The lid itself has a few scratches and marks that appear to stem from manufacturing and it is made from plastic that is thinner than I thought was possible to make. I am still happy to give 5 stars because of the low price for what this tank offers. Speaking of plants .. the tank comes with very vibrantly colored fake plants. These are not something I use in my tanks so I am going with real plants. The filter is the real sensation in this set up. 3 Stage filtration in a nano-tank .. that is nothing less than amazing! The pump that runs the entire water movement/filtration system is wonderfully quiet. This is perhaps the most convenient aquarium I have ever had and I am excited. Very good product and equally good value.

This tank is a perfect size for my baby betta. It has a super quiet filter. I had to double check it was even on! Comes with a bunch of plants and a net. Also comes with ceramic stones for the filter. However, it is not clear at all where to put these stones. No way to set the temperature which is a huge con for a fish tank. Fish require certain temps. Not being able to regulate this is terrible.

This was incredibly east to set up. Almost true plug-and-play. I'll let it run for a week before adding anything to it. A single 5# bag of bio substrate was plenty for the bottom (purchased separately). Added a couple live plants and used a few of the included plastic ones just for looks. Will add another decoration or two and some shrimp (if I can get the temp where I want it) later after it has had time to cycle. The control panel is simple and intuitive with easy on/off controls. The filter runs silently, but is pretty sluggish. One light mode shown in the description does not appear to actually be included in the product ("light cycle" - I had hoped this meant it had an automatic day/night light cycle timer built in). I has the other 7 light color options, but is missing that one. The lights are not as bright and vibrant as shown in the pictures. It beeps every time you hit the light button (or any button). That beep is loud, annoying, and completely unnecessary. Thermostat - If this can be adjusted, I cannot figure out how. It seems to be either on or off, and the listing implying it can be set is inaccurate. It says "The digital display shows real-time water temperature, letting you easily keep a steady, comfortable habitat for your aquatic friends inside the fish tank." - that, to me, implies you can set it to the desired temp for the creature you intend to put in there. I've read through the instructions, the listing, and have taken everything apart looking for a way to manually set that - I can't find it. The heater is within the filter itself and cannot be accessed and there are no controls in there to manually set it. The buttons on the lid are on or off only, and it seems to raise it to a higher temperature than what I want (heats to over 80° - I wanted it held a bit lower than that. Sitting at 84 right now as I write this). The way this seems to work is you have to constantly turn the heat on and off as you notice temperature fluctuations to keep within the desired range. Absolutely not ideal or practical. I'm not sure this is worth the price tag when a local pet shop will have similar things for less (although with a heck of a lot more cords), but the all in one and only one cord is a nice selling point.
