I've owned MANY yoga mats, but this Bubba Active hits different. First off, this is probably the most durable yoga mat I've ever had. Even the ones that are from well-known brands that I've paid premium price for does not compare to this. This is going to last me for a LONG time and will probably stand up to different terrains. Second, this grips like no other. I don't even have to rely on yoga socks to have this grip on to my hands and feet well on the surface of this mat. Third, I not only use this for yoga purposes, but also perfecting planks, moves that involve planks, and other movements that involve isolation. As someone that is loving working out regularly and working on making sure I have correct form, I consider this a tool to help me get to my goal in building that foundation of proper form and safety in my workouts. I am not a surfer by any means, but I have thought about it from time to time. I think that by using this mat, I feel encouraged to start since I am working more on plank like moves like push ups. The surf board outline, as well as the hand and feet placements are useful for me since it encourages me to work on pop ups, which is a great workout by itself, but also has given me thoughts to actually be courageous enough to try. My son, who works out with me from time to time, also loves this yoga mat. He has also looked at the outline and just innately follows it. This probably has encouraged him to consider surfing, too. Why not? I got this during the fall/winter months, so maybe surfing is in the cards for us. I digress -- this mat is great overall! The only downside, which isn't much at all, is that it's heavier than the average yoga mat, but if you're working out, that's additional strength training, which can be a big plus! The media could not be loaded. This Bubba Surf and Yoga mat is the toughest yoga mat I own. I like the rubbery material, and the grip that it provides me. I can bounce around all over this mat, and it doesn't slide anywhere. The strap that is included is nice too, as you can simply roll rour mat up, put the strap around the ends, throw it over your shoulder, and carry it wherever you'd like. Good mat. Not using it for surfing practice, but am using it for yoga and other workouts, and it's good quality and comfortable to use. Easy to clean, as well, and doesn't seem to absorb smells. I wish they had more design options, but I'm pleased with the product. Recommended.
