Great side hobby
Got this for the hubs and he has loved putting it together! It came with all the correct components and was just the right amount of easy + difficult to put together. I'm definitely going to gift him some more.

Impressive 12 cylinder sports car engine STEM build and display piece
This is one of the coolest and most engaging engine models that I have built and completing the build was extra rewarding once you see everything in motion. This build is for older kids, teens, or adults because it is a more challenging or complex build but this is perfect for anyone that wants to challenge themselves and possibly learn something or sharpen your skills along the way. The instruction manual included provides great details about the engine and the images clearly show which pieces are needed for each step and where they go. The pieces are made of high quality plastic with a finish that makes them look a little like metal. There was no issue fitting the pieces together but some step are a little complex so ensuring the correct piece and direction can be really important to the building process. The rechargeable battery is included with a USB power cord so you don't need batteries to provide the motion which is nice. I also like the transparent areas of the engine letting you see what is going on inside when everything is moving. For the educational value this set provides and since it has over 1600 pieces I think think this is definitely worth the money and would make a great gift for anyone seeking a challenge, especially if they like sports cars or engines.

Complex but engrossing
I haven't finished this so I can't verify that it runs but wow this is complex! It's fun - but it's a lot. I love these kits. I'm not good spatially so I try to challenge myself. This is decidedly a challenge! The instructions are good. It took me a while (and some smaller kits) to get it but I am getting tons better. So far there are no missing pieces and there have not been missing pieces from the other kits I have done. For kids? This would be an amazing education. For adults too but kids definitely. It would be a good parent/child project. If you are an adult (like me) it's really engrossing and relaxing. Plus you get fun engines that run at the end!
