In my opinion, a 360 Degree magnet is the best overall design for a fishing magnet (attracts from all sides). I think the Brute Magnetics magnets are the best/highest quality on the market. I've used single sided magnets, double sided magnets and of different brands and pull-strengths. I recommend the 'bundles' where you get the magnet, gloves, rope and carabiner all in one kit. If you're serious about magnet fishing Brute Magnetics magnets are worth the price for a quality made product.

I ordered 5 different magnets: 750 double sided, 1000 double sided, 2000 360°, and this 1500 360°. This brute 1500 is the best of all I tested. I did not test the brute 2000, looking forward to it in a few years. I was able to lift and suspend a 2 foot length of rail road track. The double sided magnets broke free at about 75 lbs ( disappointing). I found most ratings were abstract, and many reviews were also useless because the author did not know what ferris metals are or the test was inappropriate. Highly rate this Brute 1500!

This is a great 360 degree magnet. It holds very well . In fact I have a floor jack and it lifts it off the ground so I would say the performance is great . Also a good value for a smaller magnet and a good price point .

Good strength, make sure to keep other magnets away from it, to not break it. No-brainer. Nice kit, gloves are definitely not whatever level resistant they say they are. Kind of cheap. Learned that the hard way, only good for holding rope.

This Magnet has a specific area on the rounded side that is magnetic. Not as strong as I thought it would be. Great for picking up screws and nails. Small things.

STRONG!!!! Get a case and watch out where you put this also be careful with your fingers. This is a very strong magnate. I pulled a safe out of the water and even used it to tie my boat up just from its strength. Don't do that! It can hold however. Its more than enough for magnate fishing. If you need to power this is it.

The rope included is not at all strong enough to pair with the advertised magnet strength. The magnet I purchased is advertised for 1,500 pounds yet will not support my 220lbs when connected to a structural steel I beam. How am I supposed to trust that it will keep hold of anything of weight when magnet fishing.
