March 11, 2014. My Bamboo arrived in the same box as the Hawaiian Umbrella Tree Bonsai. In spite of the way it was packaged it seems to be doing ok. It only had a small damp paper towel around the roots and a piece of plastic around the half paper towel secured by a rubber band. The pot & rocks were packaged separately. It arrived loose in the big box and looking a little battered and half of the roots were gone. I put in the pot with the rocks and immediately added water. For the first 2 days I was worried it would die right off? But today(its been 4days now)it seems to be perking up. It was not as full or as tall as I expected. The Pot is nice and they sent plenty of rocks. I am waiting to see if the lack of roots will be a problem. Update March 29,2014: I have changed my review from 4Stars to 5Stars. The Spiral Lucky Bamboo has grown roots where there weren't any to speak of and they are turning a dark red. It is growing taller will have to trim it soon. Happy Just Took a While. *~*

I ordered the 7 stalk curly bamboo arrangement as a get well present for my father in the hospital. I am very disapointed in this product. It didnt look anything like the picutre! It was considerably smaller than what is pictured and the bamboo stalks were misshapen and yellowed. The Stalks are all clumped together and lean heavy to one side. The roots (what little roots there were)were bound so tightly i had to soak away wet paper(that looked like wet toilet paper) that they used to keep the roots moist. I doubt the poor little thing will live. It was packed in packing peanuts but shifted during transit and crushed all of the leaves on one side, even ripped a few off. The two pieces of curly bamboo look terrible, and are intertwined so tightly with each other it just looks like one stalk. This looks nothing like what i expected from the picture. I paid 30 bucks for this! what a waste.

There must be luck involved in what you get. I got this to give as a gift and the plants arrived a vibrant green. Really nice looking and appears very healthy. The instructions provided were for an outdoor plant which this is very much not. I was not not there when they got it but I saw the finished setup and it is very nice. They had the common sense to know it was an indoor plant so no harm with the wrong instructions. This was a well liked and unexpected gift that I enjoyed giving after the reaction it got.

This plant came packaged well and in great condition. It needs to be assembled -- and that takes some specific work of preparing the included pot and included pebbles (of which you will have extra). This plan is growing indoors in an office cubicle with no natural light, flourescent ceiling lights and an LED "daylight" bulb lamp directly above it. (I've tried it in various locations within the cubicle and this is where it seems to do best. There are three "layers"/circles/heights of plant. Most of the outermost layer has died, but that may be the fault of the caretaker and not the plant. I use a bit of KL Design & Import - 20 Bottles of Super Green Green Lucky Bamboo Fertilizer Plant Food *NEW* about every three weeks, which I also use on my other office plants. Bamboo plants are not always easy to grow indoors, yet this one has stayed fairly vibrant and it's a nice addition to the cubicle, if you have the right light and water.

Disappointed. All cuteness in the picture stayed at the factory. Its a puny plant that looks bushy on one side, and broken branches and flat in the back. There arent any cute little pebbles or moss. There was a fisherman. I bought as a sympathy gift and it arrived after 5 days. Isn't prime 2 day shipping anymore?? Update: Amazon sent a new plant. It was planted more firmly than the first one. The top of the jade was more rounded but about 4 inches wide. So still a little thin. And still no moss. Replacement arrived after 1 day.

I bought this bonsai for my boyfriend for his birthday. I was very impressed with the way it was packed for shipping. It looked so healthy & pretty. He's always wanted a bonsai tree (& I didn't even know it). It's the talk of his work place, everybody has to stop & compliment it & want one. It's been 2 weeks since he took it to work with him, it's now sprouting baby leaves.... He's a very proud bonsai owner. He's doing his research on rearing & keeping it alive :)

Our bamboo was well packed with gel in the roots to keep it live. It was green and appears healthy! The vase was well packed and protected. The rocks were just the mixed river rocks, not the three tones that you can layer like the picture of the one we ordered, but still nice. And there were more than enough rocks. This was for a gift, but had it sent to me first so I could assemble it. I would order it again.
