Ok, I have not purchased TONS OF SMART BULBS... or tons of LED bulbs in general seeing as all the ones I have bought seem to be really good buys and not one has died on me in the like 5 years I have been using led bulbs. Just to emphasize I have had good luck choosing brands/products here. Now, the brightest bulb I own flat out is the Novostella 13W 1300LM smart bulb. They are also over built like, they are super solid, heavy to a point your first time picking one up will actually shock you at how heavy and solid they really are lbvs. However, these Broadlink (referred to as BL from now on) bulbs are not far behind them at all in any way and actually beat them out in many. I put one in a 3 head lamp together with the Novostella bulbs and you actually can NOT tell the difference between the bulbs at all. The only way you know which is which, the BL bulbs have this really nice, slow reaction that is smooth and pleasing when they change in any way. Most other bulbs are very abrupt about any on, off or color changes they make. The smooth reaction of the BL's are for sure a BIG selling point. They will also cut on if you ask Google to change the color of the bulbs while off. Like the BL bulbs understand you asked them to do something and they power on in the color you asked for unlike any other bulb I have owned yet... Other bulbs, you have to issue the power on command at some point or already be in the power on state otherwise nothing happens. They will be in the color you asked for once cut on though, so that's still always good. With that being said, BL bulbs win here... Now here is the deal breaker and why I think (unless the tech drastically advances and forces me to upgrade) the broadlink bulbs (BL Bulbs) with NoApp tech are going to be my "Go-TO" bulbs from now on, no question asked... When you need to add a new NoApp BL Bulb, you just have to sign in that first time using your BL credentials and the new bulb automatically gets added to your account. No need to add it to the BL app or any of that extra stuff you normally have to do adding a new smart device. It just appears... You Name it, add it to a room and move on lbvs. So no smart device I have owned yet is this simple to add to my google smart home! I may even phase out the Novostella bulbs completely because not only are the BL bulbs simply better functionality wise, they also seem to act as access points for each other, or other devices using the NoApp technology... So if I am accurate there, it means less clutter on your wifi network because only 1 or so of these bulbs need to actually connect directly to it and can then share connections and issue commands sent for the other bulbs/devices!!! Another HUGE selling point for me to get them and try them out because that is a problem I as a new smart home builder totally overlooked getting started.... How many devices can my service provider issued router handle, turns out not many before it starts showing signs of working harder (Tip: Upgrade your WiFi Router!!! and don't be cheap about this one at all!).... So, if the NoApp tech is what I understand, I can add all the bulbs/devices I want using this tech and it wont have so much of an effect on my traffic like most other techs in common use at the moment. I am going to stop here because I can do a book about these bulbs and thats not needed lol. All that is needed is to say if you are looking to buy, this is for sure a great option. Reputable company, leaders in the industry, great product with great functions, yes you can make your own scenes, I say buy one and try it out because I was beyond happy with the purchase of these bulbs and for sure will be buying more in the very near future...… Broadlink, if you see this, you better send me a free bulb lmao... Just Kidding Of Course, Love Your Stuff!!! ... show more

  • Good bulb, was not easy to setup because I already had been using other BL apps.

I have been using SmartLife APP for ALL of my other smart devices in my home. I just happened to also have the broadlink app because I use their IR Blaster device. This all started because I accidentally bought a bulb from some other company and it had it's own app, and I wasn't about to install and have to use yet ANOTHER app just for one more bulb. It either has to work in SmartLife or one of my existing apps already, that was the deal. So, I returned it and saw the Broadlink bulb. Since I already used the Broadlink IHC app, I figured that would be okay for adding a bulb. Not my first choice, but I'll survive it. I tried to follow the instructions and quickly realized it wasn't going to work in SmartLife App, but on the box it says it should work the "NoAPP"? That was a new one to me. So, "noApp" is an App? but it's not an app? lol. I connected to the bulb, set the wifi ssid to join, and it seemed successfull. But I couldn't find it in any app yet still. I checked my email as it said it would send to verify, but still couldn't find it any of my apps, IHC, Alex, etc.. So I resigned to download NoAPP. This too didn't find any devices. It didn't even have an option to add a device, just scene, group, and voice assistant. Gave up on that. Then, while digging around I realized that there is DIFFERENT Broadlink app, that is just a DIFFERENT app than the Broadlink IHC USA that I've already been using for years which also showed no new updates, and no newer version. Okay, this is going to be interesting. I heard horror stories of people in the early days having to completely reprogram their IR blaster devices because of app resets or updates, but I figured screw it, I'll try the new different app and see what happens. I installed it, logged in with my existing account, and voila, all my stuff is there, including the new bulb. It seems that the new broadlink app might be a replacement for the IHC? I'm not really sure. There's absolutely no documentation anywhere on their website that explains anything useful. I let the Alexa app search for new devices, and it only found the new bulb, not 2-times the amount of things on my IR blaster... WHEW! So, I'm not really sure if I need the IHC anymore, if I should remove it? Disable it in Alexa now? Who knows??? Some actual real documentation or information would be nice. I might not have been so confusing for someone else if you've never used any broadlink stuff before. But then, if you add other devices that aren't supported by Broadlink, you would still have to use the SmartLife or something similar, or another 3rd party app. Wish they would standardize some of this stuff. ... show more

  • Easy to setup and use, work well with Alexa
Size: 4 Count (Pack of 1) Color: Multi
These are really a decent price for smart bulbs - good range of colors and dimming ability and brightness. I almost never use them at 100% - they are just too bright for me at 100%. I usually set them around 30% (Alexa set [bulbs] to 30%) when white, maybe brighter for some others If there is a ding to getting them setup, its the stupidly small instruction booklet which is very hard to read. FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS ON THIS PAGE - seriously, its like two short steps (and the one they should tell you - after adding the bulb, rename it or Alexa will get confused because they all end up with the same name). Anyway, the instructions on THIS page are easy and its pretty simple to get the bulbs added and grouped with Alexa (I can't speak to google setups). ... show more
