  • Excellent Water Cooler - Setup was a beast, but I hope to simplify that with this review!
Color: Silver Style: Reverse Osmosis Filtration
Off the top, this product is well designed, and assembled with quality components. The instruction manual could be better, and it would be excellent if someone could find a link to it online. If I am able, I will take photos of the manual and post it with this review. The water tastes great! I purchased this unit to get myself into the habit of drinking more water, and will probably add around 1/8 teaspoon of Celtic Sea Salt to remineralize the water. I find myself craving this water now, and with the built in cooling function, it makes everything quick and easy. Features: Hot, Cold, and Room Temp water on demand. Perhaps the best feature is that you can press a rocker switch on the back of the unit to start a 90 minute cycle to pump pathogen killing ozone directly into the system to clean the tanks and the lines. It's also worth noting that the instruction manual includes instructions for removing the water tanks to clean them independently, which I would definitely advise you to do at regular intervals. The instructions don't say how often you should completely clean the unit, but I'm going to check it out at 3 months, and then I can't imagine it being necessary more than once or twice a year (if that). I believe the ozone feature is important, as many RO systems show an accumulation of bacteria in the reservoir over time. I have performed the ozone cleaning cycle once already, and if there was any ozone gas leaking, it was minimal as the ozone odor was extremely faint. Plus any leakage would just clean and refresh the air around your cooler! I started off trying to install the system by splitting off of the 1/4" line behind my refrigerator. After 3 days and 4 trips to the hardware store, I reread some of the reviews and realized I would probably get better results splitting off of the cold water line coming in for my washing machine. This worked out great, because it provided additional pressure, and I wanted to place the cooler in the laundry room, so I didn't need to drill any holes. To split off from the cold water line, I used a standard 3/4" garden hose "Wye" connector, to which I reconnected the cold water line to the washing machine, as well as a 3/8" OD x 3/4" FH "Dishwasher Elbow". Lastly, I purchased a 3/8" OD "Cap" to cap off the end of the splitter that ships with the unit. On all connections, I made sure to use the included PTFE sealing tape. This is critical. In the future, I will probably purchase a gasket from a hardware store to further prevent any leakage from the cap. Caps are notorious for leaking, and I pretty much got it stopped by adding a second layer of teflon tape to the connection point for the cap, but a rubber gasket would definitely improve things, as I can feel a tiny amount of water leakage at the connection when I check it after a couple of days. For the drain line, I just ran it out of the back of the unit and pushed it down the drain line in the wall where the washer water drains. The install isn't the hard part, it's finding the parts. Hopefully this review will help you out! Note: After installing I reached out to the company to check on the availability of parts. I was told that they do keep parts on hand, so serviceability should be taken care of. When you look inside the unit, they are parts that should be easy to locate, and there is enough room to get to things and make your own repairs if the pump or compressor go out in the future. All in all an excellent product at a really amazing price. A+ ... show more

  • Do not buy. Poor quality machine and terrible customer service
Color: Silver Style: Reverse Osmosis Filtration
1. Arrived with an outdated manual. It was missing instructions about the installation of the reverse osmosis filter. I learned this through customer service. 2. Unit has a water sensor chip but it’s nowhere to be found in the manual. I learned of it on a hunch as I tried to troubleshoot why the machine was not dispensing water. I prematurely turned on the water without proper connection and water flowed into the machine and landed on the base of the machine where the sensor resides, a.k.a. chip the chip resided. It was designed to prevent the machine from functioning. It automatically shuts the machine down. Nice feature unfortunately, it was not made known or advertised. 3. I called customer service four times for assistance in troubleshooting. They answered two out of four. On call three and four they made me hold I held more than 30 minutes each time and never got an answer. In fact, I was disconnected. 4. I decided to email them since they did not do well with phone inquiries. . Via email the only solution offered in regards for the room temperature water (watch my video) was to use a combination of hot and cold water to make a room temperature. They seriously said that. I got the response three times despite my full disclosure of the problem. They refused to troubleshoot futher. The product was returned. 5. In regards to the material of the dispenser- it’s cheap. It’s all plastic. Except the door that houses the filters that was stainless steel. I think. 6. Installation was somewhat easy if you know how to use the tool they provided. It is used to cut the hose but that was not explained. 7. Prepare for a 20 minute set up each time the filters are exchanged. That is explained in the installation manual. ... show more

  • good RO water dispenser for hot and cold, but not room temp
Color: Silver Style: Reverse Osmosis Filtration
Installation: The RO system is pretty easy to install, with the basic instructions and hardware provided. You do have to do a little bit of basic plumbing work for the water feed line, and you do have to install a drain line for the RO system that means drilling a hole in a nearby sink drain and running your drain tubing into it. Water quality: I tested out the filter with a basic TDS water tester and got readings of 275 ppm from our tap, and 37 ppm after the RO. By comparison, the single stage non-RO Avalon system that I was replacing gave a reading of 175. Hot and Cold water: temperature and availability is good. Measured temp with my digital food thermometer was 172 F for the hot, and 45 F for the cold. The reservoir capacity and the refilling, reheating, and recooling time is fast enough that I always feel like they are available. Room temp water: Bad. You can basically forget about this. If you want this primarily for filtered room-temp water to use for filling your coffee maker or ice maker (two of the things I wanted it for) this is not the unit for you. There is some issue with the room-temp reservoir not refilling properly. Sometimes you can get a decent amount (maybe 2 cups), but most of the time you get almost nothing (maybe half a cup). Minus one star for this - it is basically a broken feature. Self-cleaning system: This seems to work well. The Avalon system I replaced also had it, and I was very satisfied, and this one seems to be the same. Overall: everything except the room-temp water works as advertised. ... show more

  • Beats buying water bottles and carrying them into the house
Color: Silver Style: Reverse Osmosis Filtration
I originally bought this to replace water bottles. We have 8 people in our house hold so you can just image the water consumption we go through. I got this water dispenser knowing I’ll use the cold water 98% percent of the time and we also live in Arizona so the 4 stage plus the ozone cleaning feature gave me peace at mind that I’m getting better water with little no no maintenance. Cons: 1. when you go to flush your filters individually. You’ll be able to flush the 1,2,4 filter with the included head. The #3 filter which is the reverse osmosis filter has a different style nipple on top causing it no to screw into the head, meaning you won’t be able to flush this filter. I personally just flushed the other 3 then just flushed the system after completing everything for 30 minutes and it’s been perfect. 2. The room temperature give maybe 3 cups. After that you gotta wait. I’m guessing the reservoir is smaller than the rest but since it room temperature you’d think it just go straight to the filter and come right out but ohh well. Conclusion: I’m very happy with the purchase. I’m personally a mechanic and an all out tradesman. With that being said the install was pretty straight forward. If you go through a lot of water with either 5 gallon jugs or water bottles and you hate carry it to fill it up or moving it then this is perfect buy. Tip and tricks: 1. Flush the 3 filters that you can for 10-20 minutes per or till clear. Reinstall all filters and just let water drain out the rear drain hole (there’s gonna be a whole with a cover) 2. After hooking up your supply line and your RO LINE and flushed the system. Ensure a consistent flow (no air) is coming out of all 3 temperatures. Makes sure the cold and hot switch in the back is turned off. Plug in machine and let it cycle from about 20 minutes. Turn on the cold water switch and let it do its thing. Your gonna hear slight noises like it’s leaking but that’s just what is sounds like. Don’t drink water out of it for probably an hour or 2, just let it cycle and fill up. After that everything will be done. Continue to turn the hot switch on and now your set up is complete. Cleaning: I clean my unit every week or 2 weeks at the longest. You just hold the switch for 5 seconds then the light will blink and it’ll be making noises again. It’s cleans for 90 minutes but I just throw a little sticky note on top telling everyone not to drink till 2 hours lasted. Flavor is great. I am kangen purifier rep and it’s taste like that water but at quarter of the price, I’ve yet to taste the ph level of the water. I’ve noticed that everyone drinks a lot more and stays more hydrated after I installed in. Beside that it was a great purchase and I’d purchase it again if I needed to or recommend it to anyone with the same situation. ... show more

  • Overall Works Well - Work Environment - Limited water supply with on board tank
Color: Silver Style: Reverse Osmosis Filtration
I was able to add an external 20 gallon tank to extend the water supply. It is room temp but filtered. We needed more water during the work day. It is able to refill the large tank overnight. Also - had the unit shut down and make a faint beeping sound. Found our users had splashed water into the base of the unit. There is a leak detector sensor and it shuts down the unit if it detects a leak. Cleaned up the water and sensor and the unit was back to work. It would be nice if they talked about that in the instructions but they don't. Can't understand why they make so many different models of these Brio units but that creates a challenge to find info on troubleshooting. ... show more

  • Instructional video needed
Color: Silver Style: Reverse Osmosis Filtration
Just what I needed. But before we were able to use it, we were met with one of the most frustrating installation of installations. The instruction booklet was vague. There were no labels on the parts and you should rely on the pictures. Even though we do not have plumbing experience, we have done several diy projects. Heck, you would definitely appreciate Ikea after this. The unit has a small footprint. I would have appreciated a single spout rather than one for each. Bought a 5 gallon bucket and drilled a hole on the lid for the drain line. It does make a lot of waste water as how it is with any RO system. You just have to decide whether you want to "repurpose" it or not. The water is crisp. Hot water is hot; cold water is not as cold as what you get from the fridge. Did try to get some room temp but run out pretty quick, not free-flowing. I don't know if that's how it is supposed to be. UPDATE: The room temp and cold lights started blinking after 6 months. We figured the filters need to be changed, well maybe just the sediment. It sucks that they only sell the filters as a set. I wish they could sell them individually specially that they have different replacement times. We ended up replacing all four filters. ... show more

  • VERY Low volume
Color: Silver Style: Reverse Osmosis Filtration
I got this for my shop, it's only me and a couple of friends using it. The max output is 2 40 ounce mugs. In order to do that you have to keep the heater for the hot water off, and the one with the most ice uses that one. The middle room temperature spout only puts out about an oz or two, it's completely useless, as is thei customer service. This was the second one I purchased, both have 4 filters but I didn't find out until I received the first one that it wasn't RO filtration. The first one was placed at our church. It was fine on Sunday, but when I came in on Thursday the floor was flooded. It appears that it was coming out of a filter, but I never tracked it down. It was right at a year. Only about 3 or 4 of us used it. The rest of the people went to the kitchen for a refrigerated bottle of water. Which was why I bought it, to eliminate the use of the bottles of water. So I've wasted over $700 on this company. I'm looking for another one, but I'm not considering Brio. There is no value for your money. It's a total waste of money. ... show more
