Was looking for something like this off and on for couple years. Wanted to overseed my lawn. My options were either a 5k attachment for my tractor or look for something else. I couldn’t justify the former. Found this and I figured for 350 bucks I had nothing to lose. Fairly easy to put together, took about an hour. All SAE fasteners which is great because even after 40 years of monkeying around the Metric system is still guesswork. Worked great! One suggestion, if have a sprinkler system, mark your heads before hand. I got over zealous on the test drive and had to change a couple. Only one small thing I had to alter. The wheel axle mechanism doesn’t want to stay in place. Easily rectified by drilling couple holes and locking with a 5/16 hitch pin ... show more

Absolutely awesome product. Could not be happier. The aerator is very sharp, like little knives and be careful putting it together not to get nicked. Once on the lawn behind the Toro Z-Turn, it aerated and fertilized like a charm. I even cut the grass while aerating and fertilizing, wow, three chores in one pull. Talking about saving time, I was able to get that Honey Dooo List done in one-third the time, and before she knew it, I was out of the shower and on my Harley-Davidson idling in the driveway. She said where are you going, I said, Riding. She asked when I was going to fertilize and aerate the yard. I told her I had while I was cutting the grass, she walked out on the lawn and saw the millions of aerator slits/holes and the fertilizer and said, Wow Oh Wow, you did it, enjoy your ride. Needless to say, I absolutely love it. Putting it together was not hard, took a little time and patience but everything, all nuts, bolts, and washers are all packaged in step by step numbers that mesh up with the Owners Manual. I purchased this product almost seven years ago before having to buy it again. I still have the old one but the seeder mechanism does not work anymore. The chain has rusted out and the hopper grader is broken. This is due to no fault of the company but because I left it outside in the elements for the past seven years and completed minimum maintenance on it when used. The aerator is still operational and I have been using it but I needed this one to drop the seed for a lawn renovation. Yes, I do have a spreader but this drops the seed and provides the soil necessary to cover them to get the best germination possible. I will also say that this product does not work effectively alone, you must add a block on top, to weigh it down, to get proper penetration in the soil. The biggest detractor I see with this product is the instructions for assembly. They could have been better because if not followed closely you can install parts incorrectly. The second detractor is the fact that this is not for hard dry soil. If you did have this type soil, you may have to water it to soften it up prior to using this tool. It would also help to add more concrete blocks on top to anchor it into the soil. Like I said, I understand the shortcoming of this equipment, but it by far has shown its worth with durability and ease of seeding your lawn or even fertilization. The unit itself is very easy to assemble, but you have to be careful working around the tines as they are very sharp. I have not used the spreader yet but have used it twice to aerate my lawn. I purchased the unit to overseed the lawn which I will be doing in mid-September. There are feed rates for the spreader that are listed in the manual, which hopefully are accurate. The combination aerator/drop spreader should provide professional results, which is why I purchased it. I already own a drop spreader and a rotary spready which has 12-inch pneumatic tires. I overseeded the lawn last year and the is a noticeable difference where the drop spreader was used. The only thing that could be improved is the bracket that locks the unit in travel mode. If you are not careful, the handle will release, and the unit will drop and engage the tines. Overall, I am very happy with this purchase. I also purchased the Brinly sweeper that has the de-thatch combination. That is a great product also. ... show more

Decent aerator for the convenience factor. The drop handle fell off during my first use, the attachment design of the handle is terrible. I bought some proper bolts and resolved the problem.

easy to put together.. looked way easier than the agrifab model. went and looked at it at lowes. hooked up to mower and loaded 2 40lb bags of Fertilizer.. way easier than pushing my scottes drop spreader. I like drop spreader so i can apply right where i want and not sling it everywhere. areation worked well also and not as overwhelming to tear up yard.. gives it a spot to get into the soil and 2 for 1 benifit. ... show more

I did my homework and found the best equipment I could find based on Amazon reviews. After 2-weeks of waiting on delivery the day finally came to use it. Filled the bin with about $100 of grass seed after a slow soaking rain, and used this product under perfectly ideal conditions. After about 15 minutes of use, the plastic cover for the chain ripped away from the bolts securing it to the metal body. When I called their customer service I was told it wasn’t a replaceable part and was spoken to very rudely. I am SO LIVID and embarrassed I gave this company and product my time and money. I got this to seed a new lawn and reseed the rest. I built a plywood top that fits on it that I can put a 4x4x16” cement block on for added weight. That works very well. We will be using this tool for weed and feed in fall too. Easy to assemble too I’d recommend it to my friends.
