This isn't a really big light, more for a few smaller seelings, or a single large plant. It has 3 light settings, that make sense once you get used to how it operates. It puts out quite a bit of light for its size, and is very easy to move around if you don't have a dedicated space for growing plants. I bought 3 different grow lights, one is a little usb one, this one, and a nice 100$+ one. This is the one that I use more then any of the others due to all the perks that it brings while not using so much power to light. It is currently helping me grow a bunch of fig cuttings before I take them outside in the dryer heat compared to inside a house. Good product to have as a spare. These fall somewhere between my cheap light panels and proper grow lights. So far they’ve worked well. The dimmer is further down the cord rather than on the fixture itself. Still it works well for ours price point.

I always buy three of the most practical, useful and great value. This grow light fits that bill. For the price of one "good" grow light you can get several of these that are light weight, simple set up and just do the job. The end. Grow on!

The media could not be loaded. It's not as big as I expected it to be, but the lighting results seem good using my phone PPFD meter. At approx 12 inches high at 100% brightness I got a PPFD of 240 umol/m2/sec, and a DLI of 10.5 (if left on for 12 hours). At 18 inches at 100% brightness it dropped to 147 umol/m2/sec, DLI of 6.4 for 12 hours. When I dropped the brightness down to 10% (the lowest I could go without turning the unit off completely) at a height of 10 inches, I got 66 umol/m2/sec and a 2.9 DLI for 12 hours. The lumens for this unit (at 100% brightness) are 4500, and this panel draws 45w total. Please take these measurements as a guide and not of be all end all. ... show more

I had one of these, from my initial batch two years ago, start crackling and flickering I discovered a ozone smell and promptly turned off the power strip so I can safely detect the problem. The dimmer switch was overheating big time. When I removed the panel, I noticed bubbling brown stuff over by the drivers. The others are fine. Seams I can always tell what I got by how well it was packed and this was cheaply packed and whet to hang it and saw ther is 1 missing hanger , good thing my order was also for a pare of hangers or I would not be able to use it . I'll give a week and most likely have to return it if I can't get the missing hanger sent to me. If not I know it's not wotrh the money ... show more

Light hasn't been running a full week and I'm afraid it won't last much longer. Been flickering, turning off, and varying intensity by itself since I've plugged it in. Seems to be in knob, but maybe also driver. Plants seem to respond well to it. But I was using 6 standard base led bulbs with diffusers ripped off, and they were way brighter. Feel like they throw a lot of unhelpful (probably counterproductive) red diodes in to save money and am skeptical that they are all actually Samsung. Probably a few low binned Samsung if at all. When it does die fully, which feels pretty imminent, I'll replace the driver with something better and see what's up. You'd think they could get a little brighter. Kind of a bummer though, there seems to be some loose connection issues. It's not like I was expecting a hundred watt light for 30$. I feel for what I was going to use them for, they'd work well enough. Just not certain on the longevity. ... show more
