These lights are marketed to a younger audience with the prospects of adding that dope early 2000's custom import scene underglow lighting to their bicycle, increasing their visibility, safety, and aesthetic appeal. However, even if you're a jaded adult cyclist, there's more than meets the eye and there may be something in it for you. If you have a cargo rack on your bicycle, this is the perfect taillight. Mounts easily and securely to the rear with two zip ties, and lasts long enough for multiple night rides. Stuff two AAA's in a Ziploc bag, put it in your pannier bag, and enjoy the piece of mind that you can quickly swap them out without tools should the light start to die out on you. Lighting options include solid light and three flashing modes of increasing frequency. The LEDs shine bright, and in a horizontal position facing directly behind, is nearly impossible to miss in the dark. I've had a handful of these lights since middle school, and the first few did succumb to corrosion after lots of use and sitting exposed to the winter elements. However, the two I have now (the oldest being a few years old) still work fine despite exposure to the elements. I highly recommend installing with the battery cover facing down so as to drain any water that enters. This makes replacing batteries a little more cumbersome, but it's still very easy and quick to do on the side of the road, and the batteries last surprisingly long for only two AAAs so unless you do consistent riding in dark/inclement conditions, you shouldn't have to replace them too often. I've had the same batteries in mine for a few months, and they still shine bright after some hours of night riding. Even if I had to replace the whole unit every year, it would be well worth the ~$12 for the utility, ease of installation and use, cheap price, reliability, battery life, and visibility. Brightz is making a mistake by not marketing their red bar light to commuters and bikepackers considering how perfectly this fits on a rack. ... show more

Brightz bike lights rock. I do most of my biking pre sunrise or post sunset. I have head & tail lamps, and a lighted helmet, but these brightz lights are what I delight & depend on for safety. The colors, the intensity & brightness, and the variety & custom-ability of placement on the frame or wheels - all make these lights a buy for me, a casual bike enthusiast. As much as I like them for safety, lighting up the bike & the pavement or floor surface around me, I totally geek out in my childish love of bright colored lights. I truly believe adding these to my bike rides is inspiring the youth of my neighborhood to get off the couch and get to moving those forgotten muscles both of the body & the imagination. I got two, however, they have different amounts of color settings and choices, weird. Seems to work good, but has a very cheap feel to them, especially on the lid to the battery housing. Fun thing to strap on to your kids bike, but don't expect much more.

I bought 1 of these to check out. We are using turn on rc rock crawlers for a night crawl. I wanted to make sure the were bright and didn't burn batteries to quickly. So I installed the cheap alkaline batteries from Amazon and turned it on. It was good and bright and 4 hours later I finally turned it off after getting tired waiting for it to die. So the battery life is great for 2 Amazon batteries. Ordered 4 more and looking forward to our Halloween night crawl. ... show more
