  • Motor
Fit right and runs great except I had to replace carb after a month must have been a bad carb other than that motor runs great and starts usually on first pull and has good hp.

  • Perfect replacement
Ordered this for a DR leaf vac from the early 2000s. This engine was a direct replacement, bolted right in, and ran flawlessly. It even provided a bit of a HP upgrade from the original. Well worth the money, and less than 1/3rd what the manufacturer wanted.

  • New engine model not up to the task earlier generation Briggs
I bought this engine for an older Noma chipper shredder unit. The unit was still in great shape even though it was about 30 years old. The old Briggs engine had worn out before the rest of the unit. I called Briggs and the gave me this model as the recommended replacement engine for this particular unit. The new engine arrived and it was a perfect fit, as expected. After using this for a Fall clean-up of chipping and shredding, probably no more than 4-6 hours, I stored it away for the winter. Well, over a year went by and I had a decent amount of chipping and shredding to perform. I ran it for about an hour and the unit stopped shredding. The engine ran, but none of the flail knives would turn. Upon investigation, I found that the crankshaft had sheared completely off. I was out of the 1 year warranty period. The blades and flail knives had been sharpened when the engine was replaced. The old engine had given 30 years of consistent repeatable service, but this new engine was not up to the task and I was left with the proposition of spending $100 on a new crankshaft. I suspect that the steel used in these new crankshafts may not be hardened or forged in the same manner as the old engines. Not a bad engine, but clearly not the same quality as its predecessor. Will have to make frequent evaluations of the crankshaft after every use. It's very frustrating that the newer engine up to the same task as the old engine. ... show more

  • Very good buy for my log splitter
I have no dislikes as I have not used the engine more than three hours, runs well, starts very easy and plenty of power. It was a very economical choice for a replacement engine and would recommend to all but commercial users.

  • Excellent engine replacement for an older mackissic chipper shredder
The entire process was flawless consistent with our experience using amazon prime. Engine was purchased to replace an older 7hp engine on a mackissic chipper. This is the same engine that is used on the 12P model that is currently for sale. The mounting holes need to be adjusted on the front and back with the front that applies belt tension worked out fine. For those contemplating the same, you may need to purchase a new clutch or change the springs in the existing clutch since you may have starting issues since there is slight amount of slippage needed in order for the new engine to start. Other than that, repurposing an old mackissic using this engine is a cost effective solution. ... show more

  • Well designed engine
I have installed this engine on to a homemade setup overtop of a mowing deck from a riding mower which I have attached to the front of my atv. This engine from day one has always started with one pull and quickly runs smooth. It is well balanced and has plenty of power for which it is used. Seller had it to me within a few days of ordering and I would highly recommend this engine. ... show more

  • Works for a walk behind blower
It is working great as a replacement motor on a walk behind blower. I needed an engine that was flat on the front where the shaft is so that it could slide up against the fan housing. None of the motors from HF fit. Engine runs well. It's started first pull after having been stored since last fall.

  • Perfect crankshaft length & diameter for Little Wonder leaf blower with great exhaust clearance
I needed an engine to replace the bad engine in my Little Wonder leaf blower. Had a really hard time finding an engine with enough power, the correct crankshaft diameter and length and and exhaust that wouldn't interfere with the blower housing. This engine was 1" shorter from the base to the crankshaft center line so I used some Briggs and Stratton spacers. Additionally, this engine had a different bolt pattern at the base of the block and the face of the block around the crankshaft so I welded a piece of 1/8" steel between the blowers original engine mounting points and drilled new holes and drilled new holes in the blower housing. Added oil, fuel and she fired right up on the 2nd pull. Very happy with this little engine. ... show more
