awesome build, very easy and my son loves it. the hardest part of the build was the masts/sails which is why it gets 4 stars. getting the pieces into the mast was horrible, had bruises left on my thumbs for a week and a small cut from it. best way to do it, put the piece you want into it on a hard surface and then push the mast down on top of it (less likely to hurt your thumbs this way) the sails were just a pain as the paper didnt want to bend to fit right, we ended up folding the corners some so it would have flexibility. other than those two parts it went together pretty quick. ... show more

First off, the reviews complaining are comparing these sets to actual Legos which is ridiculous. You can't pay 1/2 to 1/3 of a product and expect the same quality and ease of use. With that said, it was more difficult to assemble than a regular lego as the bags are not sorted or numbered. BUT there aren't that many different pieces, so finding the correct pieces isn't that big of a problem. Two big issues. One the sails are almost impossible to properly attach to the masts as they are way too big. When they flex, they just pull the small round pieces that are supposed to hold them together, off. Two, the figures that are included, particularly the "skeletons" are very poor quality and come apart extremely easy. Aside from those two issues which are not deal breakers imo, for $60 this is a good quality knockoff kit. ... show more

It sinks as soon as it touches water. Of course it does, the pieces aren't fully sealed. Bought this for a 7 year old. Box says 6+. -It was difficult to build since the pieces weren't perfectly aligned to connect. -The pieces were mixed into several bags. -Bags weren't labeled for steps. So we just mixed all the pieces . This is a child AND parent project. Its mostly them looking for pieces and connecting the major spots, ie steering wheel, the main part of the ship, cannons, weapons, etc. GOOD FOR DISPLAY only, IF you SUPER GLUE IT TOGETHER. Its not good for playing, as the pieces fall off with just one tough of air or feather. Very flimsy. I even bought super glue (the real kind, not like this off brand cheap LEGOS) and glued the major parts, but it keeps falling apart. Kid doesn't play rough either. ... show more
