  • Great juicer
I am glad that I bought it. It works well and it is very quiet. The juice came out just how I like it.

  • BREVILLE COLD JUICER 1000 WATTS
BREVILLE MAKES FINE PRODUCTS AND THIS JUICER IS VERY GOOD. THERE IS SOME CLEANING TIME REQUIRED ABOUT 10 MINUTES WITHOUT DISWASHER. PRICE IS RIGHT.

  • Whats not to love
The media could not be loaded. Love this new updated version of the Breville. I recently was diagnosed with prostrate cancer and once again began using my 15+ year old Breville juicer which has seen some better days. But I'm getting ahead of myself, I first listened to some podcasts and videos about the benefits of juicing for cancer remedies and heard about different types of masticating juicer's , and other very expensive machines that supposedly do a better job and provide more high quality juice. Well, I embarked upon a quest to find the best solution for my challenge. I tried all the recommended machines only to be more and more disappointed with what out there in the market. The slow masticating once were quite an ordeal, from having to cut up the veggies to feed into the machine, to having to stop several time to clean the processing parts to overheating of the motors and clogging up. I eventually went back to my old machine with more acceptable results. The only problem was the amounts of juice I required was putting a strain on the old dog. It frequently struggled to keep up with my needs. I was beset until i came across Breville's new cold plus machine and decided to give it a try before giving up since store bought juice just doesn't cut it. I researched that the new tech in the cold plus does not heat the juice thus destroying vitamins/minerals and that it made other improvements to the machine as well. So I gave it a try! Well I'm pleased to say "I'M impressed" and that's not easy to do these days. As the pics show the top now fits into the centrifugal mechanism and does not allow for it to spit out debris. Also the same goes for the larger waste bin which easily handles 6 lbs of carrot/apple waste. The juice container hold up to 70 oz and is really not that hard tilt into place as other reviews have said. The chute is 1/2" wider than the last model so feeding produce is not an issue. But the best I saved for last, the quality of the juice is exceptional. I usually do not leave this lengthly a review, but I felt that it needed to be done after reading some of the reviews. Thanks Breville and thank Amazon for bringing it home. P.S. my PSA has dropped down from a 5.4 to 1.83 and I'm heading for spontaneous remission. P.P.S I'm still experimenting with using thin produce bags in the waste bin for easier clean up which is nothing compared to other machines. ... show more

  • UPDATE: The more I use it, the more I appreciate it
** Update at the bottom, rather than editing the review in case any other new buyers also find themselves with a mess problem. ** I started off not very happy with this juicer, especially for the price. I wrote this review initially as easy-to-read pros and cons, with more details and background for those who want them. Also check out my photos which illustrate some of my original key points. All that said, the more I have used this over the last few months, the more I've learned to really appreciate how quickly it juices, how little prep is required thanks to the large opening and powerful juicer, how decent the juice tastes, and how easy the cleanup is. However, it IS loud, it does trap some juice in the bowl that ought to go into your pitcher, and it's called a Cold Plus but be advised it's not a cold press. PROS: * Fast. Crazy fast. Like... you say to yourself, "Is it done with that apple already?" * Relatively easy to clean. That's important -- if juicing is difficult, you won't do it. * Dry pulp. Also important because that means most of the juice is being extracted. * The finished juice tastes good. That may be more on what I'm putting in than the machine, but hey. CONS: * Loud. Crazy loud. Like... you say to yourself, "Is this a juicer or a leaf blower?" * Messy. Good thing it's easy to clean because it leaks both pulp and juice. Hope your counter is easy to clean, too. * Traps juice in the bottom. It's nice that the pulp is dry, but if you're not willing to tilt the juicer at the end, you're going to lose 3-5 ounces of juice because of how high they positioned the spout. OK, some background. I don't hate Breville like some other reviewers. I have a Breville toaster oven combo that's pretty good. I have a Breville espresso machine that's even better. So, when my ancient Kuving juicer gave up the fight last week, and I jumped online to do some research, I put Breville near the top of the list when I saw they made a juicer. Other contenders were the Ninja (I really like my Ninja products) or the Nama. Let's face it: juicers are expensive these days -- DARN expensive. The Ninja Neverclog is around $120 average, and those Namas hover around $500. So, I set aside my expectations of an inexpensive replacement and ultimately figured this Breville was a good compromise (Ninja too small, Nama too pricey). Well, now I think I should have splurged on the Nama. My dad always said, "You won't remember the extra money you spent, but you'll always be reminded if you don't like what you bought." Let's break down the pros and cons in more detail, and it's worth noting that they seem to counter each other. FAST but LOUD. This thing is scary fast. Put a whole apple, carrot, celery stick, whatever, in it and press slightly with the food pusher and POW! It's gone. And so is your hearing. The large opening (one of my knocks against the Ninja) means you can put a whole apple in without having to cut it (you do need to peel citrus, obviously), so it's a prep time saver. But lesson learned: don't shove as much stuff in the opening as will fit, because then the loud gets LOUDER and the mess gets MESSIER. And I don't mean the old hockey player. EASY TO CLEAN but MESSY. The angled mesh of the filter basket means you can get at it easily with the included brush and clean it quickly, which was my only real gripe about my old Kuving, which had a difficult filter basket to get your hand into to scrub out the debris. All the parts except one (other than the base, obviously) are dishwasher-safe, too. But what is up with the pulp and juice flying out? Photo #1 above shows a little of it but I admit doesn't really capture the scene. I had already wiped the counter nearest me and I should have picked up the juicer to show the counter underneath. Breville's included instruction guide says if this happens to "use a slower speed if possible" but it ain't possible. Everything but the softest fruits need to go on high. Loudness aside, this is just unacceptable to me. If difficulty to clean makes you not want to juice, how do you feel about cleaning your whole kitchen every time? DRY PULP but FULL BOWL. Breville doesn't have an official name for the bowl under the filter basket, so I'll just call it the JUICE TRAP. While it's nice that the dry pulp in Photo #2 indicates I'm extracting about as much juice as possible, it's maddening to see how much juice is swirling around in this bowl (Photo #3). The reason it happens is because the nozzle (Photo #4) is positioned so high above the bottom of the bowl, where gravity naturally takes your juice. The spinning only helps so much; I tilted the machine after my run and got several ounces of additional juice out. So, there it is. This thing makes tasty juice and makes it quickly, and it’s easy to clean the unit itself, too. But the added cleanup time of your juicing environment makes up for the time savings, and having to tip my big juicer assembly over with the nozzle still in the pitcher is nerve wracking and annoying. I find myself wishing now I had flopped out another couple of Benjies for the Nama J2. Well, I hope that helped, and whatever you decide, juice on. \m/(-_-) **UPDATE** I figured out a way to prevent the mess, which seems to be working. The issue is the top cover fits pretty loosely over the pulp catcher and there's a lot of "wiggle" room for how the latter is going to sit. If one isn't careful -- particularly in the placement of the electrical cord, which comes out the back and is apparently meant to run through gaps under the pulp catcher -- the top cover won't sit flush against the pulp catcher. Any bump against the machine once you've started also risks creating a gap, which will let pulp and juice fly out all onto the counter (and I do mean FLY, it will go quite a distance). Now that I'm being super careful in how it all lines up, I've had a few runs in a row without the mess, which bumps this up from 2 to 4 starts. It does make really good, consistent juice, and is super easy to clean and assemble. So the two remaining cons are the extreme volume and the "potential" for a big mess. ... show more

  • Great juicer
Finally I can make my own carrot juice and celery juice. It does not leave any residue in the juice. Very easy to clean.
