I ordered a multiple pairs of BRCOVAN (where do they come up with these names?) ball mount components, including handlebar clamps with 1" balls, aluminum alloy diamond shaped bases with 1" balls, 1/4"-20 male threaded posts with 1" balls, and double socket arms to connect the 1" ball components together. I'm going to talk about all of them in this review because it's a system and many of you are no doubt considering purchasing other components, just as I did. I hope that's more helpful than just writing a line or two about the 1/4"x20 ball adapters under review. If you've ever bought, or even priced out, RAM Mounts brand ball mount components, you know that the price can climb rapidly as you assemble the various parts you need. These BRCOVAN components use the same ball diameter of 1" that is used on the popular "B size" RAM Mounts product line. These are completely compatible with the genuine RAM Mounts B size components. The lock and hold just as well as the RAM Mounts brand products and cost only about half as much on average. These are not a compromise in quality at all. In fact, I think that the quality of the 1/4"-20 ball adapters are even better quality than the RAM Mounts equivalent. The handlebar clamps are beautifully machined and finished aluminum and stainless steel. The wing knobs turns with buttery smoothness due to the precise, high-quality threads and smooth pivot points. The diamond base ball adapters have flawlessly machined and finished aluminum bases. The double socket composite arms are also nicer than the RAM Mounts brand becuase they employ dual springs with one per socket end. RAM Mounts have only a single one, causing the socket at the spring end to let go as you loosen the knob, but requiring that you manually release the other end. I don't have any hesitation in recommending these, and other BRCOVAN ball mount accessories. Everything I've seen so far leaves me extremely impressed and satisfied with their products. ... show more

    • Work well with my RAM hardware. Seem just as good
I've got a fair number of RAM connectors for attaching various bits of gear -- iPads, phones. GoPro cameras, my Canon mirrorless camera, etc. -- to my car, my bicycle, my kayak, and more. And picking up a few sets of these BRCOVAN adaptors is a no-brainer way to expand my kit without breaking the bank. These appear to be just as good as the RAM ones. There were no issues with threading them onto gear, and the ball connectors lock into the RAM clamps just as well as the originals. The next time I need more components, I'll definitely be giving the BRCOVAN system a look. ... show more

I added these to my kit to set up dedicated mounts for different accessories. I had some spare plates that I use to mount lights and mics, so I added these to create a pair of dedicated mounts for my adjustable arms.     • Part of a versatile mounting system
This fitting is used with other fittings to create a mount for a camera, phone, or other item. The ball is smooth and durable enough for its purpose. I mounted the ball to a 1/8” sheet of aluminum with a nut on the other side. I wished that the threaded portion was longer so the nut would grab more threads - the threaded part is pretty short (about 1/4”). Had I drilled and tapped the hole it would have beem perfect, so it seems that the manufacturer intends for this to be installed in a threaded hole. This is a versstile system for mounting fairly light weight items, especially when there are odd angles or a need for adjustment. Used in conjunction with other components it solved a mounting problem in a fairly simple way. ... show more

    • Great alternative to RAM brand
I recently discovered BRCOVAN products as an alternative to RAM products. I must say I'm quite impressed with the quality of these products and will order again. I ordered these ball mounts to fit my Lamonster RT Spyder Cuff I have on my 2017 Spyder RTL which requires the 1/4-20 X .25" Male Threaded Post. The quality and weight of this product is impressive and I will not hesitate in the future to mix and match between RAM and BRCOVAN products. Some of the reviews are remaking that these 1" ball adapters by BRCOVAN are cheaper alternative in price to RAM. However, at the time as I write this review both brands are the same price. Either way, both products are comparable so I'm OK with the price being the same. If the prices match, it will really come down to availability on which product I order. ... show more
