Brazos Trekking Pole Hiking Stick is much better than any cane that I have ever owned or used. The 58 inch walking stick gives you more leverage as you walk, climb stairs, or walk over uneven ground. I added rubber tape to enhance my grip on the pole. This is my second Brazos Walking-stick. My first Brazos walking stick was an Ironwood Walking-stick that was stolen from where I work. It was just as amazing as the Hawthorn Walking-stick that I am reviewing now. I have engraved my name and telephone number into this new Hawthorn Walking Stick to hopefully prevent it from being stolen as well. These walking-sticks are a necessity for me due to my poor balance. I would recommend one of these Brazos Walking-sticks to anyone who needs a little help with their walking or balance. If you do purchase one of these wonderful Walking-sticks, I recommend that you engrave your name on it.

My 55 inch stick arrived with the bottom at 40 degrees to the rest of the stick. It was also short. Otherwise it looked strong and quite nice looking. I tried to twist the rubber to a more favorable angle but because the bottom of the stick had such a sharp bend it would need trimmed about 4 inches then it would be much to short. I sent it back. And am awaiting my replacement. Its late. The rubber tip would have worn out prematurely on one edge. The person making this stick must have had something other than my walking stick on his mind in order for it to pass inspection. UPDATE: After a lost shipment the 2 new sticks showed up. One had a bend in the center which was still very useable. One was straight and very strong. I recommendthis walking stick just be prepared for the occasional crooked one which may or may not satisfy your individual needs.

A few days ago, I was walking my small dog around the neighborhood, and encountered a woman with an unleashed pitbull. Her dog came running to me and my dog, and I was afraid it would end up badly. Also, I am 69 years old and have some balance issues at times. At first I felt silly paying for a stick. But I have to say this Brazos Walking Stick is a very well-made and handcrafted item. It will be not only useful in fending off any animals, but also for added stability when walking. The one I received is very straight for a natural product, and very sturdy. The rubber tip will be perfect for walking around the neighborhood and through the park. It has a nice finish and I am pleased. It did come in a huge box, but I’m sure that helped protect it during transit. It is also nice to get something that is made by a small company in the United States.

This nice walking staff is light and easy to walk with actually helps me walk longer. At 58 inches it is also a good weapon to keep any wild animals or frisky dogs away, not that I needed it that way. It comes with a good rubber tip that grabs the roadway good and by pushing down slightly my feet get a little relief. It is nicely made out of strong red oak with a grip area and a leather strap through a hole allows me to hold it tight and hang it near my front door. It isn't easy being 68 and any advantage I can find is a good thing. Always drinking wine after walking helps too. Happy walking.

I have wanted a good quality wooden walking-stick for quite some time. I have looked at them at the Renaissance Fair and other places but for the really nice ones they wanted ridiculous prices. I happened upon this beautiful walking stick, hand made by Brazos on Amazon for a VERY reasonable price and I ordered it. Part of me was thinking it was probably too good to be true. However, when it arrived and I took it out of the box, I INSTANTLY knew I was wrong! This beautiful walking-stick is EXTREMELY well crafted of high quality wood! It is quite obvious that they take their time making these wonderful walking-sticks to ensure they put out nothing but a fantastic product. VERY pleased! I would recommend them to everyone!

I purchased two of your twisted hickory 58" walking sticks from Amazon this week. One came as a beautiful stick with absolutely nothing wrong with it. The other came with no rubber tip or the Brazos emblem on it, also the sanded grip area is about two inches longer than the other one and the bark has been almost sanded smooth with very little pattern left on the entire stick. This stick seems to be lower quality than the other. After contacting Amazon for a replacement, they informed me that it was not eligible for return/replacement even though they both arrived today. Brazos refuses to honor lifetime warranty because they were purchased on Amazon..

Real wood real wood real hickory wood has the feel and look of real hickory wood not perfectly straight but almond will buy another one if it breaks but I don’t see that happening I bought another one from a different company it was perfectly straight and had about 4 inch bend at top it felt hollow and real light not like a stick would feel and it look exactly like pictures I was wondering how they got the knots of a real limb to be exactly the same so I took out my cheater glasses and removed the leather string in the hole and looked inside you could see thin sheets of plywood and could tell it had been rolled up to form a stick and glue holding it together this stick here is solid hickory there no guessing or wondering it’s solid and thick has a brass ovel plate indented close to top and real leather going thru the hole and nice thick rubber stopper at bottom of stick I’m walking better lots better with walking stick than with a cane no one ask me to comment on this stick
