My physical therapist advised buying the Scar Away to use on my scar from hand surgery, which I did. It does its job - the scar is much smoother and less pronounced when the scar sheet is worn. When I saw how quickly I would go through the number in the package, I wanted to try this more generic version for a lower cost. I found that the less expensive material is actually better. It comes in a large roll with some pre-defined division lines. It just so happens that if I cut off squares based on those faint lines, then cut that in half lengthwise, it is exactly what I need for my hand scar. An advantage of this material over the name brand is that the adhesive on this is stronger, so the strips stay on my skin much better. Note that they say one strip can stay on up to 10 days, but I doubt it will last that long, at least not on your hand. It will last at least until your next shower or bath. It can stand several hand washings during a day however without a problem. If you do a quick shower, it can last through that too. I do find that it will snag on objects (again, hard to avoid that on your hand), such as a stair bannister or a steering wheel. So, what I did is to buy some "disposable" cotton gloves, cut off the finger tips, and put that on my hand when I'm handling things. The cotton covers the scar sheet so it can't snag on things. Each cotton glove only costs 30 cents, so when it gets dirty or worn (~1-2 days) I throw it out and make a new one.

This is my second box of these silicone scar sheets, and I do like them. With the first box, I didn’t really know how to use them because I had no idea I could wash and reuse them, but I did notice that they work great on newer scars. I am currently using them on an old tummy tuck scar, and I do notice a very slight pigmentation change, so I am eager to continue using the product. I leave the sheets on for three days at a time, and they stick very well through showers and workouts. After three days, I’ll take them off, clean them, and while they’re drying, I use silicone scar cream until I put the sheets back on. They are especially easy to keep on because I will usually wear a faja all day so the tape won’t move or be bothered. I think the stickiness and adherence to the skin plays a very big part in how good they work, as well. There are dotted lines you can tear, which makes it easy to shape, if you need them to be even smaller, you can just cut with scissors. So far, so good! :)

The quality is good. Sticks well. Quality material. I really like the perforations - it made it easy to use. I have raised scar. It didn't really make a difference but neither did the expensive patches.

I started using these on my tummy tuck scar about 3 months after surgery. 3 months was too soon so I had to let the scar heal better. Started using them again about 6 months after surgery. They stick on very well and don't come off even in the shower. After about a week of consistent use I already noticed my scar began to flatten. I will be purchasing more. Hoping it will actually help fade the scar.

I can’t comment of the effectiveness yet but the product is great as far as feeling secure on my skin, which was a concern for me. I burned myself on my chest and the initial healing process was annoying bc bandages just wouldn’t stay in play. These do, 100% No odor, no discomfort. They are small patches but I found that it was convenient for being able to fit in between my boobs, lol. If you are trying to disappear a surgical wound or something, I suggest placing them one at a time and layering them just a bit.
