It fit our bed frame bought years ago from a box store perfectly. But as with other reviewers, the brace or bar (marked "A") needed to have a hole drilled (red arrow) to attach to the bed frame. Installed in less than 30 minutes and it fit our headboard. just what we needed to add a missing headboard. Glad I bought it, it seems pretty sturdy too. Unlike many or most of the reviews under this heading, my review is for the Flex Form Raised Platform Headboard Brackets. I bought them for my Amazon Basics California King Raised Platform bed frame. The listing uses the term "universal," and since the picture shows a bed frame that looks just like the Amazon Basics bed frame I assumed that it would install without issues. Not quite. First, know that the bracket received does not look like the one pictured. It is larger, and has a triangular shape, but the mounting hooks and headboard slots are probably equivalent. The brackets are very robust steel and the hardware was complete. The installation of the bracket onto the bed frame was easy and went as expected until I came to the support strut that attaches the lower part of the bracket to the leg of the bed frame. This support piece is tapped at both ends and attaches easily to the bracket end with one of the bolts, but - surprise! - there is no hole in the Amazon Basics frame to attach the other end. I solved this by drilling a hole in each leg leg to accommodate these bolts. Problem solved. Apparently, the Flex Form brand bed frame has the appropriate hole drilled in the legs as appears in the instruction sheet. Attaching my older brass headboard presented another small challenge because the slots in the bracket did not match the holes in my headboard. I attached one bolt on each end using the slots in the brackets, then drilled holes in the brackets to match the holes in my headboard. I'm very pleased with the result: a high quality, robust bracket assembly providing a very sturdy headboard support. But unless you are comfortable drilling the necessary holes in the legs of a non-Flex Form brand bed frame, these brackets may not be for you. ... show more

I bought this platform frame from Amazon: ZINUS SmartBase Heavy Duty Mattress Foundation / 18 Inch Metal Platform Bed Frame / No Box Spring Needed / Sturdy Steel Frame / Underbed Storage, Queen. I have tried 3 if not 4 different sets of brackets to use with this platform frame and my Queen headboard. NOTHING works. I'm SO FRUSTRATED!!! ... show more

So, this is a "universal" bracket for mounting a headboard to a metal bedframe. The problem with many "universal" products is that they, frankly, don't fit anything. Long story, short... we had to seriously modify this to use it. 1) The spacers that go between the bracket and the leg of the bed frame were TOO LONG. This is a critical piece of the puzzle. It keeps your headboard from tipping back when you lean against it. (We had to make our own spacers out of 2x4), 2) when properly mounted, the bracket was too narrow to accommodate the legs of our headboard. AND, the instructions indicate that you should be able to move the bracket out to match where your headboard will mount. However, the curve of our bed frame would not allow this. AGAIN, a critical piece. SO, we had to mount an 80" 1x8 to the brackets so that the headboard would mount to that. This bracket should've made for an easy headboard mounting... but it all required a lot of customization. The bracket WAS the vehicle by which we COULD mount a headboard, so there's that. We made it work. But, it did NOT function as advertised for our bed frame. Again... UNIVERSAL = IT FITS NOTHING. ... show more

I have a foldable bed and I just purchased a headboard from Ikea and I wanted to mounted the headboard on the wall in the beginning. But then I found there's such a bracket and I gave it a try. Voila! It worked pretty well!

    • Like the platform frame, but not this bracket.

I'm pretty impressed with the Boyd metal bed platforms, but this headboard bracket set is a disappointment. For starters, it looks like an engineer might have been involved at some point in the design but then they fired him/her and hired someone to build this thing as cheap as possible. So some parts have a bit of structural rigidity, but at other stress points the parts crush during assembly, or bend when the headboard is attached. The steel is very soft and thin, which means it bends easier than I think it ought to. The supplied machine screws and nuts are also soft and have poorly cut threads that strip easily. One part that attaches to the bed frame leg has a threaded hole that was destroyed during manufacture. I didn't want the hassle of replacing the defective part so I modified it to work. In fairness, the bed frame these brackets attach to is not really sturdy enough to support much of a headboard. So maybe they figure this flimsy bracket is all you should need. But that doesn't excuse the poor workmanship and materials. I also have the older style bracket they used to sell and it too was flimsy, but it was cheaper and took ten minutes to install. I messed around with this thing for a whole afternoon and I still don't like it. The headboard wobbles badly. If you've got to have a headboard for your metal bed platform, I would advise trying another type of bracket if possible. Made in China. ... show more
