  • Brand New?
Size: 130W
I bought this brand new on a LD. Out of the box there were some scratches and some dings on the panel and the stand was digging in to the back of the panel when you fold/unfold it. Panel is working great, getting 40-50 on a late afternoon cali sun. Will reach out to their customer service for replacement. Update: They sent me a new panel, Thank you! I'm giving them 5 stars for the panel. 3 stars for their customer support. It takes too long for them to respond to customer inquiries. ... show more

  • Poor quality
Size: 130W
Update: Bougerv contacted me about this review and they have sent a replacement panel. The new panel doesn’t have the busbar defects so I have raised the rating to 3 stars. I gave 2 stars instead of one because the Solar panel does put out 80 watts in the Florida heat. The panels feel flimsy and don’t balance well on their stand. I believe that the first strong wind will blow it over. The black frame will burn your hand(s) if you try to adjust the panel angle without gloves or a rag to protect them. Now to the worst part. On one of the panels 6 to 8 bus bars were not laid down correctly. The bus bars are on a diagonal missing the solder pads on several subcells. This means these sub cells are not connected and this Solar panel will never reach its full potential. Also the connecting cable feel of poor quality. The 8mm to 5521 connector is not deep enough and hence does not work on my Jackery 500 and Jackery 290 ... show more

  • Light portable briefcase
Very light compared to my heavy glass alum 100w GZ panel. Comes with a 6ft long Mc4 to 8mm solar cord with a 8mm to 5.5mm reducer. The BougeRV Powerstation takes the 5.5mm barrel port input, while Jackery and Goal Zero use the 8mm plug. The hardware holding the legs were all loose when I setup the panel but a quick check with a hex tool solved that. So far the panel produces about 85-90 watts on a good sunny day, so I am happy with that. One note is that shade across the panel from side to side will reduce watt output to zero. I am using the panel with a Goal Zero Yeti 1000c powerstation and everything works well together. Not sure on long-term durability for full-time nomad use but we shall see by end of summer how it holds up to everyday use. So far I am happy with it. Update: I have the BougeRV 120w and the newer 130w briefcase panels. Full-time nomad and use solar every day and leave outside at night and in the rain. My thoughts after using both panels for many months in the western landscapes . PROS: alum frame and plastic face means a very light panel. Output wattage seems above avg. A nice long mc4 to 8mm barrel connector cable is included so connects to Jackery, goal Zero and other powerstations that use the 8mm input plug CONS: these panels blow over easily in the wind. You have to weigh the legs or stake the legs with tent stakes. The plastic face scratches easily on gravel and rocks when blown over. The leg hardware and bolts loosen easily and need to be tightened with a 5mm hex tool. The bottom bolts are difficult to access, so I had to drill a hole thru frame on each side to access the bolts easily.... Some of the hardware bolts/handle will start to rust after time outside. My 120w panel developed a twisted wire connection that made the panel short circuit due to exposed wiring touching. BougeRV did send me a free replacement. ... show more

  • Impressed in Couldy Seattle!
I could not find reviews that spoke to watts achieved on this solar panel, nor did I believe many of these reviews were not paid hype - so I took a chance to purchase and this is my review - I am so impressed! On an intermittent, cloudy day today in February in Seattle, just shy of 1pm, this solar panel achieved a varying 97-105 watts. Wow! On a sunny, summer day this thing will far exceed my expectations, yet it already has done so today. The watts achieved are right on par with the ~10% loss that the factory specifies will average for the marketed watts on this panel (120 watts x 0.90 = 108 watts). This is a very efficient solar panel folks! I'm sure on a sunny, summer day it will be more than 108 watts if I peaked at 105 watts today. I wanted a light, portable, compact, foldable solar panel that would not be less than 100 watts on average. This is the one! It's also waterproof, has a great case, and a sturdy metal kickstand. Very well made. I have three critiques: 1) I needed to tighten and adjust the kickstand screws, and clean the panel from fingerprints and gunk from the factory. 2) This is pricey for the advertised watts when comparing other brands, but it honestly delivers and outweighs in quality and watts achieved. 3) My first order arrived USED and damaged on multiple counts, which Amazon quickly and seamlessly replaced. I don't know who was to blame for that (e.g. Amazon or the factory). So, be aware - inspect your panel for any signs of being used or damaged. After speaking with the factory, it seems the mishap was not them. An upgraded model does come out near July 2022. Updates are worth waiting for, but I will still keep mine as it is just fine. ... show more
