  • NEEDS AIR EVERY 2-3 DAYS
Color: Blue/Black
I've had my Bosu for about 4 weeks now. Is there a problem with my Bosu, or does everyone have to refill their flat Bosu every couple days? UPDATED TO ⭐⭐⭐⭐ I emailed the manufacturer directly, supplied them the receipt invoice from Amazon as well as the serial number on the ball, and they are shipping me a replacement. It's nice to know there are still manufacturers out there that stand behind their product. ... show more

  • Exactly What I Wanted and Expected
Color: Blue/Black
I usually use a Bosu at the gym and physical therapy. At the start of the pandemic, I thought I might be extravagant in buying one for home use. I also didn't know how long the gyms would be closed! From March through September I've been working out at home without the Bosu, but in September I needed to go back to physical therapy. Sure enough, they gave me exercises involving the Bosu! I decided it was time to buy my own so I could be consistent with my PT routine at home. I'm so happy I got it! It's easy to setup and I slide it under my elevated sofa when I'm done, though you could also hide it under a bed if you wanted to, if you don't have the luxury of a proper home gym area. I've been working out in my living room. I have to admit, I refuse to use the manual pumps and this is not my first inflatable piece of equipment. I have to balance balls that I take with me when I travel, so I have a little portable electric pump. The Bosu inflated quickly with the pump. I can't say how easily it inflates with the manual pump it comes with. Some users say it doesn't come with the DVDs and wall chart promised. They don't read directions. It doesn't come with hard copies, it comes with digital copies. Inside the box are the Owner's Manual, directions for extending your warranty, and directions for downloading your free DVD download and free wall chart. I actually like this better than it coming with the hard copies—The poster would be folded and creased and the DVD would be subject to break. You can keep the digital copies on your phone, your computer, your tablet, or all of the above. It's quite convenient. Also, when you log on to the Bosu website, you can CHOOSE which of several DVD options you'd like to use your promo code for. Again, pretty sweet. All and all, I'm very happy with this purchase and highly recommend using a Bosu with supervision. If you're purchasing the Bosu and have never worked on one with a therapist or trainer before, be cautious. Doing an exercise carelessly or incorrectly may result in injury. This is a device that's meant to push your balance abilities, so falling or rolling your ankle or wrist are all risks that come with using this unsupervised. ... show more

  • Digging it
Color: Blue/Black
UPDATE: After almost three weeks of daily use, the Bosu was getting easy. Too easy. And the Bosu at physical therapy was getting harder for the same exercises. Hmm. I figured that PT's ball has 9.5 inches of air, possibly 10, and mine probably needed a recharge. Yup. I had started at 8.5 and was down to 8. I filled to 9 inches. The workout is tough again, in a good way. I don't consider this a flaw. Pounding on this thing for 20-plus minutes a day is sure to force some air out. So I'll check it at least weekly. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Never heard of a Bosu ball before physical therapy sessions, and I'm a convert. It's a pricey piece of equipment but I actually USE it. So long as you treat it with care ("Do not taunt Happy Fun Ball,'' to evoke an ancient "SNL" skit,) it should last quite some time. For my purposes I'm interested in four, maybe five rather basic exercises and, happily, don't see myself progressing beyond that. Three weeks into PT, I'm seeing a huge return to strength, tone and flexibility and I believe the Bosu exercises (I'm concentrating on hips and below) have contributed the most. My best tip is to use the Bosu barefoot. In socks you slip all over the place. Sneakers, with all their support, may not give you the full benefit of muscle engagement. For PT sessions I use the Pro model. That was more than I wanted to spend for home use; this version appears to be just as sturdy as the Pro. After two weeks I've had zero air-leak or other troubles reported by other users, and will update immediately if something pops up. Another tip: It's important not to get intimidated by the illustrations of Bosu maniacs doing super-advanced exercises. Seriously, dude? I'm not doing no-foot push-ups and raising my hips and legs above my damn head while gripping the Bosu. (That's the photo on the instructions booklet -- dude looks as though he's diving into a pool -- and frankly it's Olympic athlete-level madness.) Stick to the exercises that you enjoy, and that you can do with good form. It's not the end of the world if you don't conquer every Bosu exercise out there. ... show more

  • Poor quality.
Color: Blue/Black
Well, I loved it until I came home today, July 27, 2017 and found my BOSU completely detached from its frame. It was still inflated but had completely fallen off the base. What???!!! I could have severely injured myself not knowing that this BOSU was about to break. I guess they're not built for durability or longevity. It's not what I thought when I purchased it. I have not even had it for a year. So disappointed. I have seen these BOSU's at the gym being abused and all. I take good care of my things. I don't understand :( ... show more

  • Arrived defective but company replaced it immediately
Color: Blue/Black
This review is two parts. A bad experience and then a great experience. First the bad. Wanted to get a Bosu ball for my home since using a commercial one at my gym. Nothing beats it for strengthening, isometric and balance exercise. The ball arrived and would not hold air when I pumped it up. Frustrated, I looked at the reviews that mentioned this problem and found the 800 number for manufacturer. Now the good. I talked to a company representative and she immediately processed a warranty for me and I had a new Bosu on my doorstep in two business days. Can't explain why some of these balls are defective but I can say with confidence that the manufacturer stands behind their product. I've been using the Bosu ball for a week now with no issues. ... show more
