  • Great grab & go amp.
Great tone for acoustic and electric guitar. Easy channel and effect setup. I play in a duo and we both have one now. I have a Quilter Aviator and a Mesa Boogie 6:25 but I find myself grabbing this amp out to gig with. BTW, LOUD I play it on the 25 watt setting.

  • Even better than I expected
Does everything claimed for it. Really nice, **USEFUL* acoustic setting(s) for gigging and recording. Sweet EVH tone emulation that just works. Software installed and functions flawlessly. the only "downside" is that no matter how much of a gear geek you may be, you need hours and hours to explore to dive into what this little bugger can do! Really, she's the prefect balance of lots of useable tones by default combined with deep and rich ability to alter them. Bravo; this is what guitar amps are supposed to be ... show more

  • Kantana Gen3 Bluetooth connection instructions
I purchased a Kantana 50 Gen3 and love the amp. Main reasons for purchase was sound quality, easy software, bluetooth connectivity and you can play backing tracks thru the amp via bluetooth once you figure out how to do it. The follow is how to do it. This is for Gen3 Series Kantana. I use iOs operating systems but procedure should be the same for Windows. I also use Kantana Librarian and not the Boss Tone Studio, better iOs interface. You will need to purchase the BT (bluetooth) adapter and install to BT port on back of amp. Next install your software to PC, ipad, iphone or what ever You will be using to run software. All installed turn on amp and launch software, in Kantana Librarian go to Settings>Manage Midi Device, it should display offline for midi device. On the amp press the BT adapter Button, short press so the blue led flashes slow, go back to software and you should see offline status change, press connect. When connected move back to main screen and press Connect Amp at top of screen then press Connect Amp on next page, once connected your software should control amp and amp will control software. Move knob on amp and that knob value will increase/decrease in software. To play backing tracks you will need to setup the Kantana Audio Bluetooth, this is done via the computers bluetooth setting. Enter your OS bluetooth setup (control panel) and search for BT devices, next long press (3-5 seconds) the BT adapter button and the blue led should rapid flash, it is now in audio discover mod. Go back to control panel and connect to the Kantana Audio device. Once connected you can now play backing tracks from computer to amp. It is important to under stand the boss bluetooth adapter is a dual BT device to connect software and audio over two distinct BT channels. For software connect thru software with short press on BT button for long flashing, to connect audio long press BT button for short flashes and use control center to connect. ... show more

  • Just like Windows – it crashes every 10 minutes
Worst amp I’ve used in 50 years of playing guitar. The sounds are just OK. Not great. The real problem it is over-engineered and crashes randomly – just stops producing sound. Turn it off then turn it back on, keep playing and wait for it to crash again. I reached out to Roland for support and they offered zero help. I honestly think they were stalling so that I could not return it. Oh well, I have returned it. Stick to a real amp, not the trash the Katana line is. ... show more

  • Very nice and flexible mid-sized amp for the home, studio or small venue shows
Very nice practice amp, still learning the software side, so looking forward to that. Good sound, plenty of power for home studio use, and likely a good amp for small venues certainly. This was an upgrade from a very small Fender LT25 Mustang, which has the 8" speaker, and this has 12" with easy access to upgrade, or whatever. I was considering the Blackstar IDX:50, but decided to go with the Boss, and I feel good about the purchase so far. It's amazing how well DSP technology has improved the sound quality of these lower priced amps and pedals. ... show more

  • Great small amp!
Sounds great for a solid state amp! You can dial in some great sounds with this amp! Slightly peeved that needed to buy the Bluetooth dongle to get the full functionality of the amp. But even with the dongle it is still a great deal! The sound quality, functionality to cost ratio is very good. I will be keeping this amp! ... show more

  • Not for me
Maybe it’s just me but I bought this because I needed a small amp to take to rehearsal and my smallest amp is a 1978 Princeton. I’m used to using tube amps (Mesa boogie and Marshall) but didn’t want to use expensive amps at our new small rehearsal space and this seemed to be highly rated. Anyway, I plugged a Les Paul into it and other than the clean channel I couldn’t get a decent tone out of any other amp mode. I also got the ga-fc ex pedal and couldn’t get it to work at all. It could be that I don’t know how to use a modeling amp, but I like plug and play and this isn’t it. Maybe if you have the patience to figure it out you’ll have better results. ... show more

Best sounding amp I've owned. Versatile and so far seems well made. Boss makes good products in my opinion.
