I bought these almost 10 months ago. I usually wait a while before giving my review. When buying in-ear headphones or any kind of headphones, I am a little turned off by the price of them. I think they all pretty much sound the same and you are basically paying for the name brand. I would normally just use the in-ear headphones that comes with every new cell phone but when they changed the style of the ear piece, I had to look into buying something different. I needed something that wouldn't constantly fall out of my ears by the smallest movement. I needed something light and small for working out and running. I am familiar with Bose sound systems and like their quality. So I narrowed it down between these and the hyped up Beats by Dre in-ear headphones. Prices were similar but the ear pieces were different. The Beats had the same round design as the one's that come with the phones but they had hooks that wrap around your ear. The Beats also had wireless that connect to Bluetooth. So I kept asking myself these questions. Will the ear piece stay in my ear's with the hooks around my ear? Will the wireless BT stay connected while running these benefit runs in the city with up to 1000's of people running depending benefit? I will never know the answer to those questions b/c I purchase the Bose instead. I had more doubts with the Beats than I did with buying the Bose. Only doubt & question I had with these Bose was will the ear pieces be comfortable and stay in my ears? You get 3 different size ear pieces with these headphones. So that helped with the my doubts since I can try 3 sizes. I didn't even have to change ear pieces when I received them. The medium size that were already on them worked great. They don't fall out of my ears and are comfortable. I'm glad I bought these. I could wear these for hours at a time with no discomfort. The sound is good for what I need. I see reviews of people complaining that they can hear surrounding noises while listening to their music. Not sure why that is a bad thing. I would rather hear a car or a group of people coming up from behind me than maybe get hit by the car or possibly mugged by someone sneaking up from behind. I don't really care for the case it came with. I think it is a little small and I don't like wrapping up the wire that small. I think the more it's wrapped up, the wire has a better chance for more wear & tear. Maybe if Bose decides to make wireless BT, I might look into try those. When I run, I use an armband for my phone to listen to music and I haven't really found a comfortable way to hook it up without the wire flopping around. I'm glad it does come with a clip so that helps. I don't like running with my phone in my pocket, or I'd just run the wire under my shirt. FYI... I bought the Bose for Samsung in-ear headphones since use Samsung phones & I'm not a fan of Apple and their IPhones. But I did try these headphones on a friends IPhone and I can remember being able to talk and hear with them. I can't really remember if the volume controls worked or not though. So these do work with IPhones but not sure if fully functional. I also use these when playing video games on the PS4. I connect it to the controller but the only problem with using them on the PS4 is that only sound comes out of the left ear. The mic works just fine though. ... show more

I read a lot of reviews before choosing these earbuds. I need them for working out to replace my 10+ year sport Sennheisers which are still working but the cables are split and I expect them to die any day now. I am picky about sound so I expected to pay a little more. I just tried the Bose out and wow the ear pieces are comfortable! That was my only complaint about the old Sennheisers...you twist the rigid earpiece on those to lock them in your ear, and they hurt after awhile. So great marks for Bose on the ear pieces! Next...the sound. I just did a side by side test, using my ipod that only has music from good quality CDs (no downloads). The sound seems exactly the same as the Sennheisers so again...great marks on sound (WAY better than the regular Apple earbuds that come with phones). The bass is not boomy, but it is certainly adequate for earbuds. Next, I tried it with the music on my iphone to see what buttons work on the Bose microphone. The volume + and - buttons do not work, however the middle button that can pause or play (one click), advance to the next song (double click), or go back one song (triple click) works great! This is better than I expected since these are built for the Samsung Galaxy and 'select' Android devices. Of course the buttons do nothing with an ipod and I didn't expect them to work. I will give them a few weeks of workouts and I will try to remember to come back and report in. Also, I agree with another review that the upper Y part of the cable seems small but I don't think this is a bad thing. Where the V comes together is about 3 inches under my chin when in front of me. I usually like them behind my head, and they fit that way too. (I'm female with an average head.) My biggest concern is that the total length of the cable (about 45 inches) is about a foot shorter than my Sennheisers. I think this is going to be a problem since I don't wear my ipod--I leave it on the shelf of the treadmill. I think I'll have to come up with some other solution. EDIT: The cable is still long enough that I can set my ipod on the shelf of the treadmill (I'm 5'9" so not short). The buds stayed in my ears. No complaints! ... show more
