We purchased this to take to our wedding in Cancun Mexico. We didn’t want to pay the resort fee for a speaker. This ended up working perfectly for our cocktail hour and rehearsal dinner. It was easy to travel with. When we didn’t use it, I kept it in the hotel safe. The sound and quality was good. Had good range for booth tooth (with the exception when my husband walked off with his phone to use the restroom 🙂). On both cases we didn’t use it longer than an hour. So I m not actually sure how long the battery lasts. I love the size of it, it was easy to pack, easy to fit in a bag to take down to the beach. Bought this Bose speaker to use in the bathroom while showering. Sounds pretty good, even over the sound of the water running. Doesn't crackle or sound frizzy and is really clear. Connects to Bluetooth devices seamlessly. Its a great size for a small bathroom because it's not big or bulky. Really appreciate the small, slim design. The battery lasts for a decent amount of time, considering it's size. On a full charge and being used daily for about 2 hours, we charge it once - MAYBE twice - a week. It will drain about 10% daily. We don't leave it on the charger when it's not in use. Charge it only when the battery is low. It won't take long to charge either. The volume is good for what we use it for. We don't try to blast it for the neighborhood to hear it but sounds good outdoors around a group of friends by the fire or for background tunes while having a card night with buddies. Even works well and sounds good in the garage while working with power tools. Would probably even be great on a river float. Very happy and satisfied with this little speaker. ... show more

I bought a pair of these to use as computer speakers (I listen to a lot of music while I work) and for playing music from my phone. After using them for about a week, here are my pros and cons: Pros: Great sound. Given the compact size of these speakers, they put out an amazing amount of bass. Maybe a little bit too much bass for my tastes, but given the overall sound quality I can't complain. I tested it out with my go-to audio test tracks (Here Is The News by ELO for high end treble, Yours is No Disgrace by Yes for low end, some Pink Floyd for stereo imaging) and everything sounded great. The stereo image is so good that for a second I thought that the phone in my hand was working as a center speaker, but the audio was coming entirely from the speakers off to my left and right. The batteries so far have had decent lifespan. I can listen while working for a couple days (on and off through the day) before I have to recharge them. The speakers seem very sturdy. I'm not going to intentionally drop them on the floor to test that, but they're solidly built. Cons: There's no aux in audio port. The only way to connect to the speakers is via bluetooth. My desktop computer didn't have bluetooth so I had to buy a USB adapter to add it, and its drivers broke some older software that I use every day (not directly the Bose speakers' fault, but very annoying). The speakers come with absolutely no instructions, other than a picture telling you to download their app. I really didn't want yet another app on my phone, but I downloaded it. That app then installed ANOTHER app, and neither one was very helpful. Eventually by playing around with the buttons on the two speakers I figured out how to get them connected to my phone in stereo mode, but it wasn't easy or intuitive. It might be my imagination, but it seems like the left speaker is a little louder than the right one, pulling the stereo image slightly to the left. I've tried adjusting the audio level with the plus and minus buttons on the speakers, but once they're paired together the buttons on each one affect the volume of both speakers. This is a feature that is also sort of a bug - if the audio source stops for a certain amount of time (I think it's around 15 minutes), the speakers automatically shut off. So every time I pause the music for an online meeting or something like that, the speakers time out and then I have to go through the whole rigmarole of getting them paired and connected to the computer again. On one hand, this helps conserve the batteries, but it's also kind of annoying. Figuring out how to switch the speakers from my phone to my computer wasn't easy. If I forget to manually disconnect them from my phone's end and bring the phone anywhere near the computer, the speakers try to switch over to the phone and stop playing. So overall, the speakers were a good bit more expensive than I was hoping to pay and there's a bit of a learning curve in figuring out how to use them, but the great sound quality and portability make it worthwhile. ... show more

I ADORE this speaker! It helps to have an EQ to get your sound just right. I looked up this speaker on YouTube, especially 2nd generation and it really gets good kudos. But, really, it's SUPER GREAT. Not just because you can get it wet, pour sand over it and throw it around, but because it truly does feel well made. I took it out of the box and lifted it up and couldn't help but notice the WEIGHT. Heavier than I imagined, which I love because it isn't a plasticized version of a speaker. It isn't lightweight and cheap feeling. It has umph. When my partner and I were fixing up the EQ, we literally had to speak loudly over the sound. Got this through a 3rd party seller because they had the citrus color. I thought of getting white through Amazon. It was 100 bucks. But I REALLY wanted the citrus for 60 buckaroo more. Worth it, although any color you get you'll love because it's made so nice. I was gifted a JBL speaker. It was on my wish list. Not as good. No EQ and sounds basey and a bit muddy. Do not hesitate.
