Description

Introducing Bose Sleepbuds II — tiny, comfortable earbuds with sleep technology that’s clinically proven to help you fall asleep faster. They work with the Bose Sleep app to deliver relaxing sounds that help you fall asleep, and use Bose noise-masking technology to cover unwanted nighttime disturbances that may otherwise wake you. So you get your best sleep ever. From wind down to wake up, this is your easy solution to better sleep. Sleepbuds play content only from the app. Explore the Sound Library’s curated relaxation content — including tranquil tonal environments and sounds from nature and beyond — and Bose-engineered noise-masking sounds designed to cover nighttime disturbances like snoring, outside traffic, and next-door conversation. Download your favorites directly onto the earbuds to customize your nighttime routine. The app also lets you set an alarm only you’ll hear, and access other features including Phone-free Mode, which allows you to program your settings ahead of time so you can leave your phone in another room. In addition to optimized sleep sounds, Bose noise-masking technology also uses the noise-blocking design of proprietary soft silicone ear tips. A pliable fin fits snugly in the ridge of your ear, while an umbrella shape gently seals off your ear canal to passively block noise. Three sizes are included so you can find a secure, comfortable fit. Sleep on your back or your side, toss and turn, or roll over during the night, Sleepbuds will stay put. A nickel-metal hydride battery provides up to 10 hours per charge, enough for a full night’s sleep, while the included charging/storage case gives you up to three additional full charges. Experience Sleepbuds for yourself.

  • Helps me sleep with tinnitus, bought a second set
Color: White
I developed tinnitus overnight in 2005 - while it doesn't bother me much during the day, I found it hard to get to sleep without some kind of distracting noise. I went through many, many types of "sleep sound" devices, but all of them irritated my wife to various degrees. (The one that she could cope with was the Marsona/Dohm with a fan in a box.) I then got the first version of Bose Sleepbuds, and they were great. I could play my distracting sound and my wife didn't have to hear it. I loved the alarm feature and that they muted external sounds. But I soon had problems with the buds not charging and thus running out of battery in the middle of the night. Bose replaced the set twice, and finally admitted that the new battery tech they had put in the buds wasn't working out. I had thought Bose was simply discontinuing the Sleepbuds, but they then came out with the Sleepbuds II that had a NiMH battery in the buds. While these are not rated to last as long as the first version, the reality is that they last plenty long enough and I've had no problems with them for two years now - I use them every night, including while traveling. I like that the new charging case, while it looks and works the same as the old version, has USB-C for charging. The magnet system also is more reliable than the first version and there isn't noise from rubbing on a pillow that bothered some with the old model. Recently I read that Bose was shutting down its "Bose Health" division to concentrate on better selling products. I don't know that the Sleepbuds will be affected by this, but I didn't want to risk it, so I bought a second set to serve as a backup (I'll use these for travel.) There is another product on the market that claims to be a competitor to the Sleepbuds, Kokoon's Nightbuds. I had backed this on Kickstarter before I bought the Sleepbuds II, but it didn't get delivered until more than a year later. The Nightbuds are a complete failure in my opinion - the masking sound loops poorly (fades out and in every 30 minutes), there is no alarm, and the control box that sits behind your neck can be annoying. But if you're someone who wants to stream to your buds, the Bose Sleepbuds aren't for you as there's only the sounds uploaded to the buds. I do like that Bose added the "phone-free" mode that starts them up as soon as you take them out of the charging case - this is what I use unless I want an alarm (alarms don't work in phone-free mode.) This mode also shuts off the Bluetooth radio after ten minutes, in case that's a concern. I hope Bose continues making the Sleepbuds. For my purposes, I don't see how they could be improved - they're so comfortable I sometimes forget I have them in when I get up. There is a wide variety of sounds you can select from, but the simple "Warm Static" is the one I choose. ... show more

  • A Life Saver
Color: White
I live with a snorer and also with pets that are active at night. This has resulted in noisiness that makes it hard to sleep. I first tried foam earplugs, which didn't work that well and also tended to fall out and were hard to put in firmly. They also resulted in ear pain that never really recovers as long as you jam them in every night. I then tried wax earplugs that were an improvement but had many of the problems that the foam earplugs did. You have to change them often as they start to lose effectiveness after a few days. Both of those methods allowed too much sound to be heard in my ears. I decided to try these Bose Sleepbuds 2 and they have been a success. They are quite expensive but worth it to get a good night's sleep, one of life's essentials. What do I love about them? First, unlike some reviews that I have read, I find them comfortable. They fit in my ear comfortably, and securely, but feel like they are barely there, and stay on my ear all night even though I am a side sleeper. Secondly, they block out the sounds that keep me awake. There are noise-masking sounds that you can load on the earbuds. You can pick the ones that you think will be good to sleep to, and choose the volume level you need, and you should be able to sleep better. I use one called Warm Static which is the best for me. I would describe it as like being in a hotel room by yourself where all you can hear is the HVAC system and nothing else. It is like one of those noise machines, but inside your head instead of being out in the room with your other noises. I also feel like if there was something like my burglar alarm going off I would still hear it. There is a sound library that includes both noise-masking and relaxing sounds. The relaxing sounds are for meditation, yoga, etc, but I have not tested these. I recommend making the investment in these if you are having your sleep interrupted by sound on a regular basis and you have tried other cheaper methods like earplugs without success. Your mileage may vary but for me it is an enthusiastic yes. ... show more
